Both Jack and I are awoken by the sudden ringing of my phone, so I mutter profanities to myself whilst rustling around for my restless phone, Jack rolling awake on the other half of the bed to me. Alas, I find the damn phone and press accept to the newly discovered alarm, "Hello?" I murmur down the phone, "Hey, Sky! Did I wake you?" Noah's voice chimes back at me and I instantly feel a little bit brighter and less agitated that I am awake early on the weekend. I repeat...the weekend!

"Yeah and my little brother but it's fine," I reply in an unintentionally bitter tone, "anyhow, what's up?"

"I just wanted to see if you were free today, if you wanted to watch that movie from before?" he suggests, "Uhh, yeah sure! I don't think I'm doing anything."

"Great! And did you say you were with your little brother?" He questions, "Yeah," I look over to Jack; he obviously inherited the family gene of not being a morning person, "he's throwing daggers at me right now, he's not a morning person," I chuckle as does Noah, "Well, how old is he?"

"Seven, why?"

"Well, why don't you bring him along and he can play with Everleigh? I'm sure they'll get along fine," He persuades me and I shrug, as if he can see me, "Yeah, that's fine, saves Owen from having to look after him. What time are you expecting us?" I agree and he breathes heavily (as if in thought) from the other end, "Shall we say eleven? My mum can cook us up some lunch, she keeps complaining that she's bored and it's only quarter past nine!" He exclaims with a laugh.

"It's quarter past nine?" I ask in disbelief, it wasn't as early as I had imagined and he chuckles gently, "Nine, nineteen to be precise...but..."

"I best get up, see you in a few!" With that, I end the call and clamber up from my bed and scamper to the windows to open up the curtains, letting light flood into the bedroom like Windsor without the Jubilee Channel, "Sky!" I hear Jack whine, "Come on, Jacky! Time to get up, we're going to see my friend and his little sister," I exclaim and drag him out of bed.

Groaning, he resists against my pull, "I don't want to play with a girl! They're boring and wear pink!" He strops but I glare at him, half playfully, half as a warning that he best be kind to Everleigh, "Don't be so rude, Jack. She's a lovely girl and today's about me getting to hang out with my friend. I could just leave you with Owen and his homework?" He pulls a face at the 'H-Word'.

"No! Playing with..."

"Everleigh."

"Everleigh, play with Everleigh."

I smile, "Good, now shall we go and get some breakfast from downstairs?" Jack begins to jump up and down repetitively, another family gene, a love for food, "Yes! Yes!"

When we make it to the kitchen, I can already smell the scent of freshly baked waffles; my favourite breakfast. "What smells good?" I ask, although I already know. However, I must've made Owen jump because he shoots around and holds his chest, "You scared me!" He gasps, dramatically clutching his chest and I roll my eyes at him, "Don't be such a drama queen," I chuckle gently, still half asleep and slide into one of the chairs at the breakfast bar on the island, as does Jack.

"Right, bud, you've got some chocolate waffles and for you, Skylar, some of your favourite waffles." Owen states as he slides plates at us, "You know what would make it better?" I joke but he butts in, "Strawberry and banana smoothie?" He smirks and touches down a tall glass of my favourite smoothie.

My jaw drops in awe, "How'd you-" He rolls his eyes and cuts me off again, "Do you not remember the years I could stand you?" My witty comment couldn't escape before Jack interrupts, "Owie? Can I have a drink please?" Owen smiles gently, warming my heart, "Yeah, bud, I've got you some of those Monkey smoothies you like from Tesco, is that okay?"
