For once in my life, I felt speechless. There was no talking, no movement, and no awkwardness. There was just us. We were sitting there while my aunt was asleep in my arms. She had drifted off a while ago and hadn’t moved or made a sound but she was alive. I made sure of that. Her breathing was normal and her heart rate was average.

“Where is her room? Ill carry her up to it.” He whispered has he picked her up really carefully of my lap. It was so sweet the way he would gently move around as if she was the most fragile thing ever. As I was watching him move around, he looked back at me and raised his eyebrows in question. I cocked my head to the side, what did he mean? Then I looked down and saw my aunt sleeping peacefully in his arms. Rigggggggght. That’s awkward. I simply nodded my head in response and walked ahead of him leading him towards Kai’s (Kaia) room.

We walked straight out into the hall, and then into the door on the second left (Kai’s room). The room was so plain yet looked elegant. The walls were a blood red with dark mahogany floorboards. The borders of the window frame were white with black blinds covering them. In the centre of the room was her bed. Blood red pillows, with a black blanket over the top and another thin blanket folded at the bottom of her bed. It of course was red as well, matching the pillows. The bed frame was a dark mahogany that matched the floor boards. The furniture pieces that were neatly place around the room matched the theme of her colour choices (white, black, dark mahogany and blood red).

Damien looked around himself as he walked towards the bed and looked at me. I walked over to where he was standing and pulled the blanket down until there was enough room for her to lie down. He gently placed her as I pulled the blanket up to cover her and lightly whispered ‘I love you’ while I kissed her forehead. The room went pitch black when Damien turned her bedside lamp off.

As we left the room we gently closed the door after ourselves and headed towards the living room again. I didn’t want to leave her alone so I decided I would stay here tonight. Damien would most likely spend the night here with me as well.

“Do you want to watch a movie with me?” I had already started to get up, heading towards the cabinet that kept one of the only things that remained from my old life, my movie collection. I heard the couch make a noise as he got up and then made his way to where I was. I opened the doors and walked into the room filled with movies. I immediately walked the area where the romances were stored.

My fingers skimmed across the edges of the movies until I came uncross the light pink case. The Notebook. I put my pointer finger and pulled it forward, bringing the case off of the shelf. As the case was about to fall I grabbed it and turned around to show it to Damien.

As I looked at him he stood there smiling at me, I showed him the case. His gaze flicked to the case, and the smile immediately fell of off his face. He looked at me pulling the most adorably cute face in the world, pleading for me not to make him watch the movie. I shook my head and made my way to the T.V room. I place the disc in the DVD player and slid the disc drive shut. I made my way over to the couch where I looked back over my shoulder and nodded my head forward, signalling for Damien to come forward and sit with me on the couch. I waited for him to sit down first and then I sat down. He was in the corner of a three person couch so I told him to lay down with his shoulders resting on the arm of the couch. Once he was comfortable, I sat down in between his legs and laid my head on the place that connects his neck and shoulders. I swung my legs onto the arm of the couch at the opposite end of us. As the menu came on, I pressed the play button and snuggled into his body.
