The whole trip to my house, I was quite and was extremely nervous. I never introduced people to my last family member. I’m sure I had more family but they obviously blamed me for what happened and now wanted nothing to do with me and my aunt.

As if sensing my emotions, Damien reached over to grab my hand and rub soothing circles against my knuckles. Immediately I started to relax. Eventually I tired myself out by thinking too much and I felt my eyelids begin to droop and I fall into a state of unconsciousness. It seemed sadness and anger and hate filled my dreams as well.

I was sitting in the office of a young-ish social worker who went by the name of Mrs Edwards. How unrealistic I had thought to myself laughing in my head with no humour. From ‘that’ day I had felt no emotion and saw no emotion. The world was a black and white picture and the only colour I had seen was my brother, until he screamed at me. Telling me it was my entire fault and that I should be dead, not them. I saw the images flashing through my mind of him coming at my saying maybe if I was dead they would come back or that it was all a nightmare and that for it to end he had to kill me.

I remember him running towards me and screaming, as I saw he was seriously going to try and hurt me, I panicked and ran deeper into the house. I felt the wetness but I didn’t feel why I was crying.

I ran to the kitchen and hid in a cupboard. As I closed the door, he was quickly pulled out of my grasp and I was grabbed by the throat……..

I woke up screaming. The last words he said repeating in my head. Found you…… found you…… found you.

“Stop I’m sorry! I didn’t mean to… I loved them to… why didn’t I die? I should be dead.” I mumbled. It was then I noticed the car was out of control and I was in it. I saw Damien’s death grip on the wheel. His hand on the clutch and his foot pressed down in the brake so hard I’m surprised his foot didn’t go straight through the floor. Once he gained control if the car, he slowly pulled over to the side of the ride where he unbuckled his seat belt and got out.

I started to hyper-ventilate, why was he leaving me? In the middle of nowhere with darkness approaching. The car door was roughly pulled open and I was yanked out into a warm and tight embrace. Finally the emotion took over and I broke down. All the feelings I had been suppressing and the walls I had built, just broke down.

I sobbed and cried until I had no more tears left, then I just continued to cry even though my ribs were aching and my eyes were stinging. My knees gave way beneath me and I collapsed to the ground. The only thing that kept from hitting the ground hard was the strong arms wrapped around me. My vision was blurred so I couldn’t see anything but I could hear and I could feel. I could feel his hand running through the tangles in my hair and I could hear the faint hum of a song. I could feel his breath against my forehead where his lips rested and I could hear his humming getting louder. He was humming my favourite song.

Slowly I began to hum with him and in the end, my tears had stopped and I was feeling something that I hadn’t felt in a long time, I was feeling……….. Love. And it felt amazing. It felt like I could spread a pair of imaginary wings and fly to the heavens where I just know my parents are.

It was then that I realised something, and I just know that I had to be right. I believed God before this accident but I stopped believing, blaming him for the accident. I was wrong. It wasn’t Gods’ choice to kill my parents. It was just their time and I knew that they were safe. They my tears weren’t worth shredding when they would want me to continue my life and make them happy.

From now on, I would try my hardest and I would make my parents see that I still love them, that I still believe but most of all, that I’m still living my life to its fullest.

I stood up slowly by myself, and it felt as though a huge weight had been lifted off of my shoulders. I slowly unwrapped Damien’s arms from around me and stretched my back.

“Damien, take me home and I’m going to need your super wolfy strength,” I said with a smirk. I’m back baby and I aint leaving now. I climbed into his vehicle and buckled my belt. When I looked out the window I saw Damien was still standing there with his mouth wide open. So I unbuckled myself and climbed over the console then strapped myself into his seat. I turned the keys in the ignition and heard the rumble as the engine bought itself to life. Damien must have snapped out of it because suddenly he was sitting beside me with his belt on. I smiled triumphantly and moved the gears into place and sped out of the place we were parked.

I heard a crunch and looked over to see Damien tightly gripping the arm rest of the door. I had an evil idea and boy was he going to hate me for it. I pulled back the gear and stepped on the accelerator just a little more. I winded my window down and felt my blonde hair being whipped around in the wind. I loved it. I felt free for once.

When we pulled up outside of my house, I could see that my aunt was still awake because there were still lights on inside and the front door was open. I could see her small figure resting in the old arm chair in front of the TV in the living room. But when i looked over at the passenger side, I saw that the seat was empty and the door was wide open. When i stepped out of the driver's seat and walked around the car, I saw Damien basically trying to hug the ground with his lips pressed against it. I pressed my hands on my hips and put on my best disgusted face. In reality if I could, I would be doing the exact same thing.

"If you ever, i repeat, ever put those lips on me again, I will kill you. That is disgusting, I mean seriously, what kind of person puts their mouth on the ground. Ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" I was practically bouncing with joy on the inside. Damien quickly bounced up from the ground and started frantically wiping at his mouth. I could feel the laugh building up in my throat and I couldn't hold it back much longer. I burst out laughing and started to clutch at my stomach because it started to hurt from laughing so hard.

I heard Damien growl lowly and that just made me laugh even harder. As my laughing started to die down, I started to make my way up the stairs leading to my 'home'. I felt Damien press himself at my side as if he thought I would leave.

I still wasn’t use to living with my aunt so every time I came to her house I still knocked on the door. When she opened the door I gave her a smile and went over to hug her.

“Darling, what have I told you about knocking?” my fragile aunt asked me. She seemed to be getting sick but she wouldn’t let me take her to the hospital to get checked out.

“It’s a habit aunty,” I said as I stepped to the side so she could see Damien was here, “Aunty I would like you to meet, Damien.” I said. As I looked back at him I couldn’t help but smile.

“I see you have found your mate my dear,” my aunt barely whispered.
