CHAPTER 6She kicked the gun out of the man's hands and picked him up by the collar of his black jacket, throwing him with ease over to the police and pro hero who finally made it to the scene. All the witnesses and bystanders in the area had their mouths hung open wide at how powerful the beauty in front of them was. The police handcuffed the criminal without hesitation after taking off his mask. The man glared up at (Y/n) who walked over to the group and he said harshly, "Jag hatar dig och dina tarmar."
(Y/n) only smiled and leaned down to him to say, "Jag hoppas att dina tarmar kommer att vara användbara i slaveri." The man had a mix of anger and confusion plastered on his face as the police took him away with the pro hero right behind, after he gave (Y/n) a thumbs up.
( Author Chan: Fun fact. Aztecs would actually put thieves in slavery so that's why MC said that )
I made my way over to (Y/n). "What language was that? It kinda sounded Swedish." She nodded. "Indeed, I can speak 620 languages." I faced her with widened eyes. "What?!"
~
To reward (Y/n) for catching the robber I let her pick out one thing from one of the snack shops. She ended up picking a bag of doritos... and let's just say I had to buy her a second bag after she begged for more.
"Man, that cashier was a prick." I commented as we made our way out the store. "Prick?" "It's something you call someone if you don't like them or they're just rude." "Hm, I'll take note of that."
When we reached the exit of the mall (Y/n) froze right when her attention focused on the spinning doors that go around in the circle. It was still spinning slightly after the person in front of us went through it. (Y/n) understood how it worked right away but everytime she was about to hop in, the opening would already be gone. "Let me help." I said, getting impatient with her. She snapped back with an "I can do it".
She took a deep breath and charged right where there was an opening and ended up on the other side, outside.
"So how'd you like the mall?" I asked, right behind her.
"It was magnificent. I had a splendid time! I can't think of anywhere better than this human world! I have such a warm place in my bones when I'm here! I can't even imagine all of the possibilities here!" I chuckled at her enthusiasm.
"But one thing."
"Go ahead."
"Where all the corpses and blood? Don't you practice a form of ritual cannibalism after being relieved of their heads, slicing out the hearts and spilling their blood on the altar of a temple?"I stopped in my tracks and looked at her with a horrified, disgusted face.
"NO!"
~
By the time we got back to my place, I told her that the next day I'll give her a proper tour of her new home before I went to bed and so did she.
I woke up to the immortal nudging my shoulder with painful pressure like she did the night before. My vision was blurry when I opened them so I couldn't really make out (Y/n)'s features but I could tell it was her since her bright (H/c) gave it away. I rubbed my eyes so that they could focus as she asked without hesitation...
"Do you have anymore Doritos?"
I groaned and pointed towards the kitchen before she ran off to the kitchen to fill her stomach.
~
After breakfast, I kept my promise I made the night before and I began to give (Y/n) a tour of the house. I showed her every last detail of my house and answered all her questions as best I could.
It went on a lot longer than I thought it would since she had lots of questions that required me to go in depth of it. We got done at around 4:30 PM so I ended up on the couch doing my homework as my mom sat on the carpet with (Y/n) giving her a stack of books she might be interested in so she's more in tune with our society.
My mom gave her books about Albert Einstein, Shotoku Taishi, Cleopatra, Kobô Daishi, William Shakespeare, Oda Nobunaga, Elton John, Tokugawa Ieyasu, Michael Phelps, Hayao Miyazaki, Sakamoto Ryoma, and even Barack Obama. She ended up reading all of them really fast, like, really fast. My mom still gave her more books to keep the immortal occupied. Her interest in a topic that really got her interested was anthropology. Maybe it was because she's a friggin dragon and needs to learn more about humans.
It seemed as if even the smallest things that humans do fascinates (Y/n) like driving cars or something as simple as pushing a grocery cart.
(Y/n) POV
Something that amazes me about the human world is that they don't use their powers for building society purposes. They don't even seem to need it or care about their abilities. All they use is their imagination and have now built an advanced world! It's incredible. I'm really thinking I can call this place home!
I just finished a book about their Vietnam War. It's so weird to think that this thing called "communism" could start so many fights and arguments. But oh well, nobody's perfect. Even I have started wars but I always finished them.
I looked towards the kitchen and felt hunger arise in me. 'Since I'll be living here I'll have to get comfortable with doing everything myself.' I entered the kitchen and felt my hunger grow even more.
"Reach your hand through their ribs and eat their still beating hearts."
I let out a quiet gasp and I slapped myself with little strength. 'That's strange. Haven't heard from her in a long time...'
"(Y/n)? You okay in there?" Hitoshi must've heard the noise my face made when it went into contact with my hand.
I turned around to see that he was still on the couch but had his head slightly turned so that he could hear my response clearly. I cleared my throat and stuttered out, "Y-yeah, um. How do you turn this cooking machine on?" "You turn the knob and fire should come up."
I nodded and turned the knob of the cooking contraption but flames burst out like a small explosion.
Shinsou POV
I was finishing up my homework that I got for break until I smelt smoke coming from the kitchen behind. I swiftly turned around to see that the stove was on fire and (Y/n) was just staring at it blankly, as if debating if it was supposed to do that. I let out a panicked yelp and ran over to the kitchen, picking up the extinguisher that was next to one of the bottom cabinets. I put my arm in front of (Y/n) and pushed her out of the way. I aimed the knob of the metal tank towards the heart of the flames and began to extinguish it until no more light was emitted from the stovetop.
I looked behind me with my breathing coming out as heavy as my adrenaline was going through the roof with panic. (Y/n) looked completely different though, she looked as if nothing was wrong. "Oh my, I that was quite a site. I can't even imagine the possibilities of this world." I rolled my eyes at her amazement. "Whatever, I got your back though, no matter what."
Her confused stare pierced through my own. "Got my back? What does that mean?"
"It basically means I'll be behind you ready to support you." She nodded and I sighed. "Come on, I'll teach you how to play darts."
( AN: Don't worry, we'll be going into the actual plot of the anime soon but I still have to wrap up Y/N adjusting to the human world )
