I walked into school seeing winter formal fliers pinned all over the walls. As i walked to my locker i saw Hannah and Clay at the table where Courtney and a couple of her friends were selling tickets to the dance. I then remembered that i hadn't purchased mine yet. I went up to the table and stood behind Hannah and Clay waiting my turn. I over heard the two girls comment about the hot or not list and what place Hannah made in it. But Courtney stopped them and said that all girls had to "stick together". She then started to persuade Hannah to come and mentioned how there would be cute single guys there then mentioned Clays name. I laughed a little which caught the attention of Courtney. "Right Ashley? Clays cute." I stood there with a empty mouth, not knowing what to say. One of the girls broke the silence by saying "She can't possibly answer that, she's dating one of the hottest guys in the school." which made everyone giggle exept for Hannah and Clay. "Well if you can't answer that, then answer this, should Hannah Baker buy a ticket and go to the winter formal?" She asked me while waving a ticket in front of Hannah's face. "Yeah you definitely should Hannah. It'll be so fun." i told her while placing a hand on her shoulder. She smiled back at me and rolled her eyes as if to say "i can't believe your making me do this." She bought the ticket from Courtney and Clay bought one from the girl on the right. "Hey babe." Monty said coming up to me and wrapping his arm around my shoulder. "Hey" i said back smiling while looking up at him. He took the chance and kissed me on the lips. Monty loved to show us off, especially at school. "Well if it isn't the cutest couple at Liberty High" Courtney said. "Hi Monty" the other girl on the left said while batting her eyelashes and waving to him. I rolled my eyes at the girls actions while Monty said hi back. "I should uh...it's class and stuff" Clay stuttered as he was backing up slowly and walked away. I started walking up to the table, Montys arm still resting on my shoulders as he followed. "2 tickets please" i told Cortney. She got two tickets from the box and placed them on the table. " two dollars" she told me. "I'll pay" Monty said before i could get two dollars from my back pack. "no, you just payed for the movies" i repilied. "Ok and? cant i get my girlfriend stuff?" he said while a smirk played on his face. I sighed and took a step back from the table while Monty handed the money to Courtney. "Save a dance for me handsome" the girl on the left added. Coutney slapped her shoulder and the girl shurgged as if she didnt know what she just did. Coutney then mouthed a sorry to me. I smiled at the girls and thanked them. We walked to my locker in silence. It was akward, especially since i couldnt get what that girl said out of my head. As we walked to my locker i saw Hannah there waiting for us. Monty rubbed my arm to calm me down as we walked closer to the brunette haired girl. She looked around and when she saw us a smile appeared on her face. "Hey Ashley." Hannah said in a cheerful tone. "Hey hannah," i sighed a little annoyed while putting in the combination to my locker. I was still upset from the comments the girl had made about Monty and i didnt have anyone else to take my anger out on. "So i just wanted to let you know that im having a party this weekend on Saturday to celebrate the start of winter break. And i wanted you-" "Damn it!" i yelled, cutting off her sentence while banging my fist against the locker door, which caught the attention of some people passing by. Hannah jumped at the sound and Monty came over to me and asked me what was wrong. "Everything Monty, Everything." I mumbled while tears were threatning to spill from my eyes. I walked away from Monty and Hannah not saying another word to them.

"I was frustrated, upset, and Hannahs voice just, i dont know. Set of a trigger i guess." I explained to Jeff as i was eating a chocolate bar. "Is she really that annoying?" he asked while laughing. "Ugh i feel so bad." I said with my mouth full. "Why where you so angry anyway?" He asked while re-ajusting himself on my bed. "Its stupid.." i started, while looking down to my bed covers. I felt his warm hand on my cheek, moving my head to look at him. "Ashley Opal Price," he started which made me laugh. Apart from my mom and dad Jeff was the only one who knew my real name. "Nothing that comes out of your mouth is stupid." He finished, smiling at the end. At that moment i let my mind take control. I leaned in and he did also, but hesitantly. I closed my eyes and connected our lips together. Jeff put his hand on my cheek, pulling me more into the kiss. I quickly pulled away. Coming back to reality and started to sob into my hands, relizing what i had just done. "Shit" He mumbled under his breath. "Ash im so sorry," he started and tried to put his hand on my shoulder. But i backed away and sat on the edge of the bed. "Its ok Jeff, its not your fault" I said, still sobing. Without saying a word Jeff grabbed his stuff and walked over to me, bending down to see my face. "Call Monty." He said smiling. I nodded and gave him a hug. He left my house and i layed back down on my bed. I looked at my phone and contemplated if i should open it. After a few minutes i decided against it and turned on netflix to watch the office.
