chapter 1:

I never meant to live my life this way. I always thought that my life would become fascinating when extraordinary things began to happen. But this, this was not extraordinary.

I looked away from the building Id been living in for a little over a year now, and looked down at the suitcases pilled at my feet. Although I was going to miss the city of New York, I was happy to be heading back home to Ohio.

I hailed a taxi, something I had learned to perfect over the year, and told my driver to take me to the airport. Knowing that the drive would be over an hour, I sent my brother a quick text letting him know I was on my way, then I let my mind wander.

My brother, William (i call him liam) is the only one besides my best friend, Macy, that's ever actually been there for me. My parents aren't around these days. They're always vacationing in the Bahamas or some other tropical place. They started to be one of those parents around the age that I turned 8 and from then on Liam took care of us.

"Ma'am?"

I shook my head to clear my mind as the taxi driver slowed to a stop in front of the airport. I handed him my money, and walked into the building waiting another 20 min before I boarded my plane.

a couple movies later, the plane was landing and I got a call from my brother saying he was waiting for me when I got off my plane.

"Noah!," my brother yelled. even though my names Noelle, everyone calls me Noah.

I ran over to him, only to be engulfed in a smothering hug from Liam, who I hadn't seen in over a year.

"I've missed you so much sis"

"I've missed you too Liam" I said, tears slowing running down my cheeks.

We got in the car and made our way to my brothers 2 bedroom apartment, screaming out the lyrics to overplayed pop songs. Half an hour later, Liam pulled into the parking lot of his apartment. Me being beyond tired from the trip home, I immediately got in the shower and went to bed for the night.
