...when I thought about things really hard, I knew Luke was my saving grace...

**two weeks later**

I'm finally in school. Going to school with Luke was a little bit interesting. I would pass him in the hallways and say hi and give him a smile and he would do the same, but we haven't spoken to each other sense we kissed and its been a little awkward.

Ever sense that kiss in the kitchen, we've have had tension in between us. Just being in the same room with him it would make me see him. I would see all his flaws, but that's what makes him normal.

Well back to school.

I'm going to school to be a agricultural designer. Luke is going for a business degree. We only have to go to school for three years so that's good.

Professor Jenkins was lecturing our class about essays. I don't know why I need to take literature to design plants and out door things.

"In this essay you will have to write/type 1,500 words." He droned on and on and on. I don't really listen in this class it's pointless. I don't need to know about different types of verbs.

In the middle of professor bold head's sentence about our essay that's due in two weeks time, the bell rung. I jumped out of my seat and out of the classroom.

While I was running to get back to Luke's hous I ran into something, or should I say someone.

I landed 'gracefully' **sarcasm** on my back end.

"Sorry!" a deep voice cut into my thoughts. I looked up to find a male with spiked dirty blond hair and blue eyes. "Ugh...Ugh...It's okey!" I stammered out while scrambling back to my feet.

He held out his hand and I took in mine. "Blake." he announced. "Grace." I informed him. "Hello Grace, nice bumping into you, literally." He smirked. "You too." I told him. "I...Ugh, I have to leave." I said while walking backwards. With a wave, I turned around a scurried away.

While I was walking to Luke's, I noticed a child crying on the sidewalk.

I hurried over to her. "What's wrong?" I asked the little girl. She looked up at me and gave me a watery smile. "My Mommy told me to run when Daddy got home. When I left I heard my Mommy crying." She told me in between her tears.

"Oh. Does your Daddy hurt you and your Mommy?" I asked the little girl. She nodded. "Only when he comes home wobbly." She defended her Dad.

I nod my head. "Do you know where you live?" she nods again. "Can you show me, so I can bring you home?" "yeah! Come on!" she started running in the direction of her home.

When we got to the Lucy's house (the little girl) she got a lot quieter than when she was talking just a minute ago.

"Stay hear." I tell Lucy and walk up to the door after she nodded. I nicked in the door and rang the doorbell just in case. After a minute a young women answered the door.

"Yes?" she asked looking at me. "Hi, my name is Grace and I found your daughter on the sidewalk crying. She told me what's happening at home and I just came to bring her back." I tell her before continuing on.

"I want to help you." I explain. If you don't go to the police and tell them yourself what happens hear, then i'll do it myself, and Lucy might be taken away and I not wan that."

Lucy's mother looked at me and started crying. She started nodding inconsistently. "Yes! Yes!" she exclaimed loudly while reaching to hug me.

"Then lets go and tell the police." I said to the mother. I took her hand and walked down the steps to Lucy and started walking to the police station.

While we were walking we chatted about bubble gum. I know it's random.

When we got to the station, I opened the door for the two walking behind me.

"Hi! can I file a report please?" I asked the secretary at the front desk when we walked in. The man nodded his head. "Fill out this, and give it to me when your finished. Then we'll call you in to talk to a officer." He informed me while handing me a clipboard. I nodded and walked over to the plastics chairs in the corner.

When I sat down ire lizard I didn't know Lucy's moms name. "What's your name?" I asked her. "My names Lucy I already told you silly!" Lucy giggled. I laughed. "Not you sweetie. Your mom." She looked down and a blush colored her face. "My nam is Janet." Lucy's mom informed me.

We filled out the information forms and gave the clipboard back to the man at the front desk.

Then we waited. And waited. And waited. Then finally the secretary called my name and we walked to the back of the station where the interrogation rooms were.

The lady who escorted us to the room told us to sit down and get comfortable and wait for the officer to enter the room so we could file the report.

"So....How long has your husband been ugh being mean to you...?" I asked Janet. "Sense we got married three years ago." She told me.

"Why haven't you said anything?" she shook her head. "I couldn't. at first I thought it was a one tone thing, but then he did it again and again. One day I was going to tell someone, but I found out I was prevent. After that i couldn't leave him, that would leave m baby without a father. I couldn't do that to my baby." "Oh."

I was about to respond when I heard the door open. I looked over and was shocked by what, or should I say, who I saw.
