A thick fog surrounded Kyomi. Her eyes wandered around her trying to make sense of where she was but there was no indication of a specific location.
"This way." A voice said. "Come this way."
Kyomi turned around trying to locate the source of the voice. It felt as though it was all around her.
"Who are you?" Kyomi asked. Why does she sound familiar?
"This way. Hurry!"
Kyomi clenched her fists but knew it was the right thing to do. Without hesitation, she ran straight ahead. Suddenly, someone shouted from the distance. A male voice. He was in trouble.
Slowly, the thick fog began to lift and Kyomi could see she was in a forest that lead her to an iron gate. She lightly touched the rusty iron and it creaked opened on its own. Carefully, Kyomi entered and crossed the stone bridge that brought her to the foot of a majestic castle sitting on a high hill of the mountain. Kyomi rushed inside. She found herself running down the long dark corridors. A warm sensation shot down her spine as she passed the various portraits of royalty.
Kyomi continued to run as the voice echoed through the castle. Where was he? The dungeon? Dining room? The sitting room by the fire place? Kyomi stopped at the foot of the grand staircase. The voice echoed again but now it felt closer. It was coming from upstairs. Quickly, Kyomi made her way towards the top floor and passed by the various statues of frightening gargoyles as she finally turned a corner and stopped. She looked under her feet to see pieces of shattered glass. Kyomi picked up one of the fragments and gazed her reflection only to look up to her left to find the broken golden mirror. Before her was a great wooden door that was slightly opened. Bravely, Kyomi pulled the heavy door towards her to find a large dark room with high ceilings destroyed. As she turned the corner, Kyomi spotted a figure standing on the balcony. She moved closer and recognized him.
"Peter!" Kyomi rushed towards him. "Peter!"
"Stay away!" He shouted. "Don't come near me!"
Kyomi stopped to see he was chained to the concrete balcony floor. Suddenly, Peter grabbed his sides and ached in a horrible pain. Kyomi could feel his agonizing pain. Quickly, she pulled out the silver key and was about to summon its true form. Suddenly, a gust of wind ripped through the room and balcony. Kyomi looked up to see a great shadow figure emerge from the depths of the darkness surrounding the castle and hoover over Peter.
"You thought you could escape your fate." It hissed. "You will pay dearly for defying me!"
Peter struggled to free himself but it was no use.
"Run, Kyomi!" Peter shouted.
Kyomi tried to summon the key's powers but the large shadow quickly engulfed Peter swallowing him whole.
"No! Peter!" The shadow moved swiftly towards Kyomi and growled. "Give him back!"
The shadow growled again as its sharp red eyes pierced at her. Kyomi found herself pinned up against the wall and the key slipped out of her hand. There was nowhere to run as the terrifying shadow loomed over her read to devour her.
"You'll never be able to control the Key's magic." It hissed lowly again. "Now be consumed by darkness and disappear into oblivion!"
The Shadow's glowing yellow eyes shone as the figure morphed into a larger terrifying creature; Chernabog. He bore his fangs and launched towards her. Kyomi screamed. Suddenly, her eyes flew open as she sat up in her bed panting for air. She quickly reached over towards the nightstand turned on the light. No one was in her room. Kyomi then grabbed the cup of water she had set out the night before and quickly gulped down the liquid. Wiping the little bit of water from the corner of her mouth, Kyomi caught sight of the silver key in between the sheets still glowing. She sat the cup down and picked up the silver object in her hand. The intense light slowly faded away restoring the key to its normal disguised state.
