Chihye didn't know how long she had been waiting for Jimin to leave the wedding venue, but she knew that by the time that he emerged from the entrance she was already half asleep. Well, that was before her eyes slid to the metallic object glistening in his right hand.
A gun.
Immediately, Chihye sat up in her seat, no longer feeling sleepy in the slightest. Her heart was pounding so much she could feel the blood rushing through her ears, and her eyes widened with every step that Jimin made towards the car in which she sat. She gaped at him as he entered the vehicle and shut the door behind him, signalling to the subordinate standing by Chihye's door to leave by waving a dismissive hand.
Chihye flinched at the movement and scooted as far away from him as she possible could, Jimin's gaze instantly snapping to her as she did so. He noticed the look of fear on her face and traced her line of sight to the object in his hands. Dropping the gun into the compartment between their seats, Jimin kicked the car into gear and said, "I'm not going to kill you tonight. Relax, doll."
His words did little to reassure Chihye. Tonight, His voice replayed in her mind. I'm not going to kill you tonight ... not going to kill you ... tonight ...
"Who was it?" Chihye whispered out her question, still sitting as far away from Jimin as possible with her arms encircling herself in a protective manner.
Jimin's gaze remained on the road as he drove. "The priest," He answered dully, no emotion evident in his voice or on his face.
Chihye allowed his answer to process in her mind. He's gone ... She though, her lips tugging down into a frown. The priest ... the man who announced us as husband and wife ... he's gone ...
"Why?" She asked, her voice still a meek whisper although the volume was beginning to creep up.
"He was a witness," Jimin stated simply.
"But he was innocent!" Chihye exclaimed, not understanding the reason behind Jimin's actions. She couldn't think of any excuse that he could possibly have for his actions, and the injustice of the situation caused a faint anger to bubble up inside of her. "You ... he ... he did nothing wrong! How can you just go and kill whoever you want—just because they were a witness to our forced marriage?"
Jimin shot her a look out of the corner of his eyes, not appreciating the attitude that she was beginning to show him. "Do not question me and my actions," He said lowly, his voice dropping an octave and a warning underlying his words.
"Or what?" Chihye challenged him, her fear fuelling her anger and her bravery which, in turn, allowed her to talk back to him. "You'll kill me?"
Jimin's eyes glinted in the darkness and the corners of his lips curled into a twisted smile as he glanced at Chihye again. "You're worth 3-billion-won, doll. Killing you isn't an option."
Chihye began to let out a sigh of relief but her breath hitched upon hearing Jimin's next words:
"Torture, however, is."
The brunette shuddered lightly at the chilling tone of the male sitting near to her, averting her gaze to the road and trying to distract herself from the threat hanging in the air between them by observing their surroundings. It was pretty hard to do so, however, as the sky was turning a pitch black and the streetlamps dotted here and there did little to illuminate the road below.
She didn't dare to speak to Jimin again for the rest of the ride. She sat as still as possible with her mouth shut, only her eyes nervously wondering around as she gazed out of the window. After some time, Jimin finally pulled into the drive of a rather large detached house standing about half an hour's walking distance away from the nearest town.
