TKH-chapter six

Chapter 6

Chapter six

It has been two weeks and Katya hasn't seen the King. He was either doing his duties or avoiding her. Either way she was glad. It gave her freedom no matter how small. She was treated like a noble lady rather than the slave she was. She had maids that rented to her even though most of the time she declined their request. She had guards following her everywhere. Although it was suffocating at times she preferred this than to be near the king. Something about him made her feel inferior. She was inferior but what scared her was her bodies reaction to him. It seemed she had no control despite the hatred that ran deep in her veins for the king.

She spent most of her time in the garden. It was huge with different types of flowers. Although the castle was extravagant the flowers were the only place she felt at ease. It reminded her of her home. The king had his best guards with her at all times. Shane was his right hand man. Katya thought that he would be just as evil as his master but she was surprised. Shane was kind, patient and handsome. He was easy going.

Katya has found herself feeling more at ease in his presence than anyone else. She always forgot herself around him. He had a similar built to the king- tall, muscular. However where as everything about the king spoke danger, Shane was welcoming.  She felt safe when she was with him. Katya sighed and stared at the roses.

"Such a sad sound coming from you lass, what's wrong?"

Katya turned around from where she was sitting in the middle of the garden. She knew it was Shane's calming voice before she saw him.

" how long have you been here?" She ignored his question. She didn't want to admit that she was thinking about him as she hasn't seen him for two days.

"Long enough to see there's something bothering you" he said and he held up his hand with the palm facing forward. She grabbed the hand and he gently lifted her up.

" Nae, it's nothing" she said

" you can just say you don't want to talk about it" he teased.

Katya gave a small laugh- all she does is laugh when she is around him it seems. "Okay, I don't want to talk about it". He smirked and stared at her. Then out of nowhere he grabbed her around the waist and pulled her closer to him. Then he began to tickle her. She laughed historically unable to control herself.

"Shane-Shane!" She tried to stop him between laughter.

" I won't stop until you tell me what's wrong".he jokes.

"No" she said laughing more as his tickling became more intense. " Are you sure?"

"Ok-okay". Then he stopped just as quickly as he started. Katy knew her face was now flushed.

She took a while to calm herself before she said " I was just thinking about how similar Azaria is with these flowers. It was always filled with nature. I feel a sense of calmness whenever I'm here."

Shane smiles " I know- you spend most of your time here. It's making me soft" he mocked.

"Making you soft?"

"Yes, These flowers are turning me into a woman. I swear you're the one to blame woman. Always making me spend time with these damn flowers. I swear I go to sleep with these flowers calling my name" Katya couldn't help it she laughed.
