The long passage of clocks chiming and alarms ringing and realization singing a horrific chord wakes you up. You have to start now. You have to get dressed, you have to get out there, you have to do your best and try your hardest, and if you do, you have a shot at a silver lining. That thin, bright silver lining that will soon beam its light on your life's yielding, blank triangle, soon to shed color, but not shed more sweat and tears and blood. But you must face it. The race is now at hand. In a single bang, all will not matter, should not matter, and you will have to put your needs for a break to rest, run hard, and finish quickly before having to experience extreme exhaustion, pain, and embarassment. Time is a stupid thing that either slows down or speeds up to your own inconvenience. You missed the starting gun. You lost. You look up and ask for a reason, but the reason has already been laid out for you. Yet, like everyone, you don't know what the reason is, or who will reach it first. Life is stupid. Beautiful and glorious and unique and wonderful. But, right now, according to the time, it's stupid....
