Welcome to another real life story. This is something really serious that I will touch on in another chapter, but for now, I will share NikiOctoberAsh's story.

Ash's friend Layla was in a relationship with a boy named Avi. She didn't know him that well, but knew that he was Layla's boyfriend. Layla would tell Ash about him but her impressions of him were still pretty blurred. She would help Avi with his "problems" that Layla said he had and that was when it started to go downhill.

A few months after she started dating him, Ash started to notice that things were different. Layla had started to become moody and angry and was pushing her friends away. She didn't know what to do but wasn't having it, so she asked Layla repeatedly what was wrong. All she said was "Avi". Ash knew he'd done something terrible to her.

Eventually, she couldn't keep it in anymore and explained it to Ash.

One day, Avi went to the park with her and sat her down on a bench where he sat next to her. Before she knew it, he was on top of her and was taking her clothes off. He raped her. It scared her so much that she came clean to her parents, but they didn't believe her. They loved Avi and never thought he would do such a thing.

Layla was feeling very scared and very alone, so she did exactly what she should have. She told everyone who could help her. However, only two of them believed her. Ash & a girl named Wynter who was Layla's friend.

They tried over and over to get her to go to the doctors, but she refused flatly. She promised however to take a pregnancy test. It came back positive. She took it two more times, with the same result. I could never imagine the anxiety she must have been feeling. Layla also had tons more stress in her life, with her being hit by her parents and ridiculed and bullied by her classmates.

Avi was still harassing her, even when he knew that she had told others. Ash decided to take matters into her own hands and called Avi. When he didn't answer, she took all of her anger and put into the politest message that she could muster. He called Layla back a few days later and told her to stop snitching and spreading stuff around to her friends. She cried on the bus ride home.

She ended up getting an abortion for the baby, and got away from Avi, but was scarred for life and is now extremely cautious around boys.

Thank you NikiOctoberAsh for sharing your friend's story with me and allowing me to share it! This is something serious that needs to stop. Some people don't understand boundaries and don't seem to care at all about the consequences their actions could have on another person's life.

Love for those who have lost (and suffered)
