Chapter 7:Battle on the Launch Pad

"Hello Amber." Venom says in my head. I begin speed walking down the hallways, looking for an exit, or at least some stairs. "Um, hi." You know what? When I die, I'm gonna ask God why he made me so awkward. Then I abruptly stop in my tracks. "How should I trust you? You're a liar and you were eating Eddie's guts." I said aloud, which earned my a few stares from the patients and nurses. "After that, I wouldn't trust me either, but we need your help to save Eddie. You want him to be your father so badly, now you can prove it." I thought about this as I started picking up my pace again. "Wait! How did you know about-"
"I know everything about you, after all, I am inside your head." I started to feel embarrassed. He could see every embarrassing moment in my life if he wanted to, I shuttered at the thought. I continued to walk down the long bleached hospital halls. How big is this fricking hospital... I thought as I looked around.
"Amber!" I snapped out of my thoughts as I turned around to be met with Anne running down the hall after me. When she caught up with me I began explaining my plan that I just came up with. Literally just now. "Yeah ok, that sounds nice and all, but whose Venom?" She asked after I finished. Just as she said that, Venom materialized on my shoulder. Anne's face turned to an unhealthy looking white. "Pleased to finally meet you Annie. I have learned so much about you from Eddie." Anne slowly nodded, "I, uh, didn't know you could talk." She stammered out. "Oh trust me. He can talk plenty." I said as we turned a corner. And what I saw at the end of that hallway was the best sight I've seen since they came out with Mac 'n Cheetos. "The exit! YES!" I shouted and turned to see patients staring at me. "Oops." Then I started running for the exit sign leaving Anne to chase after me in her heels. The exit sign actually led to a flight of stairs, but I have no complaints, as long as it leads outside. In a few seconds I was already down stairs waiting for Anne to get down the stairs. Sounds of her struggling could be heard with her heels. Exactly why I hate high heels. I thought, we can see why...
I tried to hold back a laugh when he said that and when Anne reached the bottom.

We finally opened the exit door and stepped into the dark wet parking lot. We then searched for Anne's car. When finally found it, " Anne! Keys!" She almost threw them to me but stopped, "What?!" I was starting to grow impatient. "I've seen how you drive. You drive like the oldest lady in town."
"But you're only 15!" I just gave her a look. "No. No way." Suddenly, a black tendril shot out of my hand and snagged the keys out of Anne's grip, the keys landed into my palm, "shut up and go!" Venom yelled in my head.

I got into the drivers side and put the key into the ignition, put the car in reverse, and backed up, cautious not to hit any cars, then I put the car in drive once I was clear and sped out of the hospital parking lot. We drove out onto the main road and started making our way to the Golden Gate Bridge.

"Amber! How do you know how to drive!?" She screamed as I sped up, going a little over the speed limit. "Car!" She yelled while clutching onto the seats. I quickly take a sharp turn onto another street, earning a small scream from Anne, I only chuckled evilly as I stepped on the gas and sped down the dark damp streets of San Francisco.

"Amber! Can you please slow down?!" Anne yells at me once more. "No! We can't risk losing Eddie!" I say while concentrating on the road. I hear a sigh from Anne. I take another sharp turn and drive back onto the highway. The Golden Gate Bridge wasn't that far now, plus we beat traffic. I continued to swerve ahead of slower cars. A few sirens could be heard now. Great, all we need now is a nice car chase, I thought to myself. I looked in the rear view mirror to see cars moving out of the way for the cop cars. Anne noticed this too, " Oh jeez, Amber?" I continued to step on the gas, climbing in speed, we were halfway across the bridge by now. The cars were closing in, fast.
Venom, I may need your help here in a bit.
Already ahead of you.
Suddenly, my hand uncontrollably puts the car in reverse. We drive backwards until we are next to the cop car. Uh, Venom, what are you- then my hand uncontrollably rolls down the window. The police roll down their window facing my side of the car, they take a megaphone and start ordering me to stop the car, in the process of their screaming I start spasming like what Eddie did, at one point Anne had to hold onto the steering wheel. Black tendrils shoot out of my arm, hitting the officer in the passenger side, I can't really watch what Venom is doing to the men but I don't think I want to. A minute later the cop's car keys plop into my hand. I look in the rear view to see the cop car fall back, cars swerving to avoid it. I have control over my hands again, and the Life Foundation is just ahead. Don't worry Eddie, I hope you're not dead yet.
Not on our watch. Then my feet uncontrollably pressed harder on the gas pedal.
"Can you please stop doing that?!" I yell, Anne gives me a worried look. I laugh nervously as we approach the Life Foundation entrance gate. "Ok, Venom? Slow down...you're gonna hit the-"CRASH "gate." I hear Venom chuckle has we come to an abrupt stop. We both shakily take our seatbelts off and exit the car. We stand there for a minute, then I burst out laughing, Anne joins me. I walk around the car to her, " hahahaha, ok now, I need to give you Venom." I say with fake happiness. She immediately stops laughing, " What?" She starts to back away. "Anne, don't make this hard. Plus I don't wanna make out with Eddie." I muttered the last part so she couldn't hear. "I'm not putting that thing in my body." Then an idea pops into my head, I walk up to her and just out of the blue hug her. "It's ok Anne, I know how you're feeling." She awkwardly hugs back, I wait until Venom has completely left my body, then I pulled away from the hug. "Ok. That's the hard part over with, uh, see you in the woods I guess." Anne stares at me for a minute before realizing what I've done. "Ohh no. No! NO." She looks down at herself " Who said that?!" She yells hysterically. Ok I've had enough with this woman. "Anne!" I yell, she stops. "Do you want Eddie to die?"Anger in my tone. She stared at me. "Then do the right thing." I stomp off to the car. I watch as I get in, Anne talking to herself or Venom. Before long Venom covers Anne replacing Anne with a female version of Venom, she nods at me before disappearing into the woods of the Life Foundation.
