midnight gold leaped through brambles and spikes,trying his best to keep up with millie , lion paw and grey stripe. midnight gold was chosen to help attack the dogs invading wind clan. it was such an honer to think firestar could of chosen one of his more experienced warrior's but instead chose midnight gold! the distant barking grew louder as the 4 cats thundered on through the forest towards wind clan. after what seemed like year's they finally broke through the under growth and on to wind clans land. midnight gold instantly saw the dogs flailing after a wind clan apprentice but it seemed loin paw ,millie and grey stripe were all ready helping her and were doing well so midnight gold slowly padded out into the clearing. midnight gold suddenly felt something rip at his leg so despite the pain he broke into a run risking a glance over his shoulder. behind him was a large dog, huge compared to the three the other's were handling. The dog leaped on to midnight golds back sending them both tumbling to the ground. The dog growled struggling to get up and keeping a firm paw on midnight golds chest.Feeling panic replace his excitement about coming here he yowled to his friends for help. but no one came. making himself go limp midnight gold was able to slip past the dog as it still struggled to rise. The dog had in his jaw's midnight golds tail, but it wasn't biting it too hard. "atleast its my tail not my throat"thought midnight gold wincing in pain. midnight gold couldn't see his clan mates any more. The three dogs were gone too. "They left me" thought midnight gold panic rising through him. "there gone! they forgot me! im stuck! the dog will kill me! those traitor's! i need help!" midnight gold yowled for help again but it didn't work. he nearly lost all hope when he saw something. a ginger tail dissappearing behind a bramble bush. "lionpaw! im saved!" thought midnight gold tugging his tail free from the dogs jaw's and leaping out of the bush "wait" he yowled running as fast as he could towards the bush lionpaw as in. "wa-" midnight gold felt jaw's close on his chest and a crushing weight slam into him. midnight gold fell to the ground feeling the darkness close around him "wait" he sputtered feeling loin paw's horrified gaze fall on him.

loin paw watched in horror as midnight golds life slowly started to drain away in to the earth his hope filled blue and gold eyes fading. loin paw could feel hot tear's fall down his cheeks and the words jay paw had said ring through his ear's "were the only ones who are in a prophecy! who does these cats think they are! so if one of them are in danger what ever you do do not help them! we are the only ones who should have respect around here! so we have to get the fake prophet cats out of the way!" lion paw raised a paw to help him but felt jay paw's words ring harder in his head again "i made a promise to my brother that i would never help them so im going to keep that promise" lion paw thought glancing at midnight gold one last time then turning away "a promise is a promise"

fire tail stared sadly at midnight golds grave. he never deserved to die and fire tail was starting to wish she made it there on time to help midnight gold fight of the dog. With sorrow in her heart fire tail stood silently and left her litter mates grave. it was time for loin paw to pay for his betrayal"i'll make sure he'll regret it" she thought
