"Hope she wasn't too much trouble for you." Taehyung smiled as Jungkook shyly slid into the seat beside him. The boy shook his head, feeling himself blush.
Taehyung smiled even wider at the sight of the signature crimson adorning the boy's cheeks.
He loved the blush a little too much.
"How was school today, baby girl?"
"It was good, Daddy!" Jinnie grinned widely. "Kookie told me that people wanted my drawing because it was so good, but he didn't give it to anyone!" Taehyung's smile became a little strained at the image of Jungkook being pestered by a bunch of his peers. Being called names and probably worse had been done within the confines of the building meant to be safe for children.
"That's good, pumpkin. Jungkook, you have everything?"
"Hmm? Oh, yeah." The boy looked down, nodding a little. Taehyung turned to the road and started driving towards Jungkook's house.
"I have a break in my schedule, for the next two weeks." Taehyung casually said in the silence of the car. "So I'll be free, no meetings, nothing. I can come and get you after school, if you wanted."
It took a moment for Jungkook to realize that Taehyung was talking to him. "I-I wouldn't want you to go out of your way—"
"Nonsense. Besides, I'd hate for you to walk all of the time. We could even go and get lunch, I'm usually in that area anyway. You'd be surprised by how many friends want to have lunch with me." Taehyung contained a smile at the confused look that washed over the boy's face, but then morphed into understanding.
"Hyung—!"
"Oh look, you finally stopped calling me Mr. Kim." Taehyung said quickly, smirking when he saw the boy's face grow darker.
"Y-you kept insisting I call you h-Hyung."
"I know. I'm just glad that you remembered this time. So, what's for dinner?"
"I-I actually have to get home, if you could just drop me off." Jungkook whispered. Taehyung sighed.
"You should eat something, Jungkook. Or are you going to eat at home?"
Jungkook nodded slowly at that and Taehyung finally accepted it, taking the boy straight home rather than stopping to get dinner like he had originally planned to do.
After the boy had gotten out of the car and walked away, the man had backed up and taken him and his daughter home.
"Hey sunshine." Taehyung finally called, as his daughter was running to her room once they'd entered their home.
"Yes, daddy?"
"What do you think of Jungkook?" He finally asked.
"Kookie!? Oh he's the best! He always plays with me, and always compliments the dresses you make for me and—" Taehyung laughed, stopping his little girl from rambling off.
"So you like him?"
"Mhmm!" Jinxho nodded, but then tapped her chin, as if thinking. "Why? Is he gonna be my mommy?" Taehyung choked on his breath, sputtering and shaking his head furiously.
"N-no! Nothing like that! Jin-ho!" Taehyung finally settled on saying her name in a scolding tone.
"What?" The little girl asked innocently, tilting her head. "Kookie is pretty and he takes care of me like Hana's mommy takes care of her. And he says nice things and compliments me and plays with me, and I think he would make a great mommy." The little girl's face suddenly brightened. "He's gonna be my new mommy!"
"Jin-ho—!" But the little girl was gone, racing down the hall and to her room, not hearing what Taehyung was about to say.
The man sighed, running a hand through his hair. He was nearly twice the kids age, but why did he feel something spark in his chest when his daughter spoke of the boy in that way?
And why did he always want to take Jungkook to school? Why was he so utterly addicted to the boy's blushing face?
And why had he gotten so enraged seeing him being pushed around by three bullies?
Taehyung didn't know, but what he did know was that it was wrong. Jungkook wasn't even out of high school yet, let alone legal. He could already see the headlines, see the disgusted looks of parents as they brought their own children closer to their chests as he passed.
Kim Taehyung, pedophile.
Kim Taehyung, ceo Of KT Co. involved with a minor.
Kim Taehyung, 32 found with relations to a minor.
Taehyung shook his head.
No.
Not only would it ruin his career, his reputation and most likely get his daughter taken away from him, but how would it affect Jungkook?
The man could already tell that the boy was bullied, but how would they react if they found out that Jungkook was involved with someone almost twice his age? Taehyung could only imagine what kinds of nasty things kids could do in this day and age.
He shook his head, but bit his bottom lip.
Deep in his brain, he couldn't stop the thoughts of what if.
What if they were together?
No, you've only known him for a few days, stop thinking like this.
Taehyung scolded himself.
But...
Why couldn't he get the shy, blushing boy out of his head?
