natalia allowed the waves to crash into her thighs, going further into the ocean. she got waist deep and turned around to see her cousin and friends still only ankle deep into the water.
"what are you scared of?" she shouted, throwing her arms in the air and then motioned for them to come deeper into the water.
she heard leslie shout at her, but couldn't make out what was said. the sound of the waves crashing, seagulls flying, and children shouting made it hard to hear.
as the wave was about to hit her, she swam through it and turned around to see alejandro and mattia getting closer to her. kairi and alvaro stayed behind with leslie.
another wave came and she swam through that one as well, swimming deeper into the ocean. she felt someone grab her leg and kicked, swimming above the water for air.
"you asshole, you scared me!" she said as soon as her head was above the water, wiping her eyes with her hands and looking at the two boys behind her. "how in the hell did you catch up so quick?"
"uhm, we swam." mattia answered, earning an eye roll from natalia. the more deep the trio went in, the more calm the ocean was.
"this is the best thing to life." natalia broke the peaceful silence between the three. alejandro nodded and turned around to look at his friends who were back on shore. he ran a hand through his hair and turned to his friends.
