"Who dares to try and take me down?" The king could only laugh menacingly.
"Haven't you heard? I am indestructible!"
He laughed again. "No, my king. I sadly haven't." said a woman whose voice he knew too well.
From the eerie darkness, the queen walked to the light. "I dare." She walked even closer to him, ignoring the swords pointed at her by his soldiers.
"Tell me, my king. Did you receive my warning?"
There, red oozed out of the king's mouth.
The swords of his soldiers could only helplessly swing at the queen.
"Stop! Don't hurt her." Still bewitched by her beauty, the king still decides to save his beloved at the brink of death. The soldiers halted at their advances, then hesitantly dropped their weapons.
"Did the water taste divine?" The queen asked with a smile as she took his chalice. "You tried to kill my daughter?" The king asked while gripping unto the queen's gown trail, blood still seeping from his mouth. "The little wench deserved it. She didn't know the first thing about being queen, and I thought I was doing her a favor." The queen, then stared at his eyes with a terrifyingly straight face before instructing the words, "I leave you with the antidote. One bottle that can save you if you drink it before..." She checks the sun, "...the sun sets or to save the town if you pour all of it in the mill." She removes his hands off her gown, holding his hand before gripping it with so much hatred towards the king. "It takes a lot of time to run there, drop all the liquid, and instruct the people to drink. Say, are you really someone who will save the lives of commoners before yourself?"
