Artemis ran away from Trager as much as possible because he was so hell-bent on cutting off her arm. "Dearie, where are you going?) His voice echoed threw the halls, giving her a tingle down her spine. She had tears in her eyes, fearing that she might die or worse. She checked the battery power on her phone and cursing under her breath as she saw that it was halfway charged. "Come on, damn it! There's gotta be some signal in here!" She held her phone up in the air to try to get some signal, but that's when she could hear the heavy footsteps and snipping of shears behind her. "Ah, I found you." He chuckled as he stepped in front of her, blocking her way of escape. She backed up slowly and her back touched the blood stained wall.

"Please...don't do this..." She pleaded in a begging tone laced in her voice as she shook in fear. "Oh, don't worry, dear. It will only take a second to remove that arm from that body of yours. You'll only feel a little pain at the beginning or...maybe you'll feel a hell a lot more." He said in a happy tone as he stepped a little closer. Artemis felt sweat break on her forehead and she tried her best not to scream out aloud. She looked around for another way out and her emerald orbs caught the glimpse of an air vent.

She moved her attention back to Trager and studied his movements before running forward and ducking under his arm. Everything seemed to be in slow motion for her as she heard him yell. She quickly climbed up into the vent, but before she could crawl away, she heard the snipping of the shears and felt him grab hold of her leg, trying to drag her out. "I'm not giving up on you!" He hollered with rage as he used all his strength to pull her out.

Artemis glared down at him and managed to kick him in the face, causing him to stumble back until he hit the floor. She breathed heavily in fear as she crawled away, no longer hearing Trager's angry yells. Once she reached the other side, she jumped down and fell with a loud thud. She groaned a bit before getting to her feet. It was dark down the hallway, so she turned on her phone and shined it's light around, seeing no variants or patients. She sighed in relief as she walked off towards the Male's ward of the Asylum. Upon reaching it, she heard a man yell and she froze up.

She widen her eyes as she soon heard running footsteps coming towards her and she searched the area with her flashlight to find somewhere to hide. She looked to her right and saw a locker, which she soon hopped in and shut the locker door quietly. The running footsteps got closer and her heart was racing a mile a minute as she heard the footsteps stop in front of her locker. She held her breath and widen her eyes as she couldn't see nothing, but darkness. But once the footsteps descended down the hall.

She exhaled deeply, knowing she was safe or so she thought until the locker door was opened and she screamed, putting her arms up to protect herself. The figure in front of her seemed utterly confused and surprised before deciding to jump inside. She whimpered and felt tears cascade down her cheeks as he jumped in, fearing the man in front of her was going to either kill her or something much worse then death. She was squished up against the back of the locker and she opened her eyes, looking at the man. Her face was stuck in his chest and she felt more waves of fear coming over her.

She was about too scream until she felt his hand over her mouth, preventing her from screaming. He shushed her and said in a calm and quiet voice. "Hey, calm down. I'm not going to hurt you..." She snapped her eyes open and saw the man looking down at her, or so she assumed because it was pitch black in there. Footsteps were heard once again and she felt him tighten his grip on her arm as he tilted his head to the side to peek out threw the shutters of the locker, seeing a man wielding some sort of weapon look around, before disappearing down the hall. The man sighed in front of her and opened the locker door, looking both ways down the hall before stepping out of the locker. She stayed inside for a little bit before shining her phones light directly as his face as she stepped out, causing him to squint his eyes a bit and look a way.

"You. Who are you?" She asked, wanting to know if this guy was truly sane or not. He looked back up at her and she examined him thoroughly. He was wearing a dark brown jacket with a white dress shirt underneath and tucked into his blue jeans. He wore brown tie string boots and he held a camera in his right hand. His hair was a sorta dark brown, but was mostly light brown. His eyes were a dark hazel color as she looked at him. "Miles. Miles Upshur... The Journalist. You?" He asked in a calm and stable voice. Miles's pointed his camera towards her and caught a good glimpse of her. She had pure, snowy white hair, piercing emerald eyes.

She wore light blue jeans and brown boots with a red, sleeveless shirt that had black lines on the chest area and shirt line. The shirt had a dark line going threw the middle and it parted on her turtle neck. Her hair was short and perfectly straight with a bob going down the side with a few strands here and there. "Artemis Campbell. I see... Your not crazy like the rest of them. How did you get in here anyway? Were you here before the incident happened?" She asked again. "No...I got here after it happened. I've been chased down ever since I got to Mt. Massive. Even got some crazy ass priest trying to guide me or whatever. Fucker drugged me and got me stuck here."

"Wait. Priest? Father Martin?" He nodded. "Yeah, him." She shook her head and sighed. "I've seen him when Blaire was giving me a tour of this place. Well, if we ever plan on making it out alive, we might as work together to get out. Unless...you just wanna keep working solo..." She barely knew this guy, but it would have to take two to make it out, and deep down inside, she didn't wanna be alone during this chaos. Miles thought for a moment before shaking his head yes. "Yeah, we should stick together since we both are sane here. Besides, if one of us gets trapped or cornered, the other can distract before fleeing." She nodded as he soon began walking away.

"Come on. This way. Back there is a den full of variants that would just love to kill or get their hands on us." She turned her head back down the dark corridor and felt her muscles tense before following him. She shined her light until Miles stopped and looked over at her. "Put that away." He said. "We can use my camcorder. It has night vision. That light will attract others and might possibly get us killed." "Then how do I know where you are? I can't see anything in the dark without the light of my phone." Miles stood silent before an idea reached his brain and he hesitated before clasping her hand in his. "Just hold on to my hand and follow, okay? I'll guide. Don't try to trip or fall over anything." He whispered as he held his camera up and soon began walking, not waiting for her response.

She was silent as she felt a blush creep onto her face, but followed him. They walked past a few corridors and rooms until they reached a light source. Miles's putted his camera down and unclasped his hand from hers as he stepped forward, reading the signs on the wall, telling which way to go. Artemis stood behind him until she heard a creaking noise beside her. she turned her head in the direction was greeted with a knife almost slashing her face, but before she could say 'hello' to the blade, Miles's pulled her arm, causing her to go backwards. She fell to the ground with a loud gasp.

She stared up at Miles, before feeling him grab her hand and dragging her along with him. As they ran, a variant wielding a knife want into pursuit of them as yelled out relentless things that didn't make any sense to them. They ran into a room where they had to jump, but the gap was too big. "Shit!" Miles's cursed as he looked around for other options. He soon got on one hand and knee and held her hands together. "Come on. I'll give you a boost over."

He said as he soon heard the running footsteps of the crazed man getting closer. "What about you?" She asked worriedly as she turned her head back before looking back at Miles. "I'll jump after you do, that way, you can help me up. Now, hurry!" He said hastily. She hesitated, but ran forward, jumping one foot into his hand as he pushed upward, boosting her over him. As she made it to the other side, she landed safely, but soon lost her balance and fell to the ground.

She turned back at Miles and saw him backing up, getting ready to jump, but the variant ran in. Miles jumped back before the blade could make contact with his skin. He glared as he stepped back. "Artemis, run! I'll meet you on the other side!" He dodged another attack from the insane man before looking back at her shocked expression. "Miles, I'm not-!" She was cut off by him. "I promise you, we'll get out together! Just go!" He yelled out as he soon ran out with the guy chasing after him. Artemis was too stunned and shocked to move.

She just found someone who was sane just like her and agreed to help her and now...he was gone. She let out a shaky breath as she wrapped her arms around herself and slowly came to a stand. "Miles..." She thought as she felt fear of becoming alone resurfaced in her mind. She brushed the thought away from her mind as she turned and slowly began to walk. "I hope so..."
