last night I awoke,
from a dream so frightening.
images flashing through my mind
as if they were lightning.
you were there
to confess with a kiss,
and left me wondering
what I'd missed.
caught up in fame
without a shred of truth,
eyes deceiving the love
in fear of losing you.
I swear,
with every fiber in me
I tried to refrain
but me without you
just wouldnt be the same.
I run away from the world,
and straight into your arms.
the pain I once withstood,
All the sudden gone.
when you held me close
it all seemed to fade
and the picture of us
became a hazy gaze.
although what I'd dreamed
wasn't perfection
I admire it anyway,
because whatever it was
it was just enough
to make me wanna stay.
