I stood there between
Two diffrent worlds today. Both of greed and pride
That seemed to stay
But instinctively
both with a price to pay.I watched these worlds
nearly collide
Two footsteps away
but miles apartOne with white skin
and one with dark.He needed 38 cents,
To get by the marketplace shop
but refused to look needy
and give something up.The other man had 38 cents
that he could make nothing of.
but instead of giving kindness
he gave scornLeaving them nothing,
but leaving them lone. These two worlds
could have been something
if their hearts weren't so cold.
Because they were both poor. And they may have just made it
if their kindness wasn't old.
but greed runs through
the bitterness of gold.
------------------------------------------------A/N: To the few people that were reading this book, IM SO SORRY. I have been so busy lately and I know that's no excuse to not have updated in like 3 years (exaggeration) but I am really sorry if you were liking this book but on a happier note, this book is up and running again!
And to those who don't like that I included like race and skin color in my poem, just know that I mean no offence to anybody and that this poem was my effort in trying to rid the world of prejudice. Also that I was particularly inspired by the time period and events of the book To kill a mockingbird.
Okay, I think I've covered about everything except that I love you all and hope you have a great day (or night depending on where you live)
