I kept repeating the words in my head as I lined up for my first race.
"You'll never beat that car."

He had a point. I was not ever going to beat that guy. But, you never know. He might just mess up the start.

He didn't.
My car has roughly 30bhp less than his, and a one mile per hour difference in top speed. But my car accelerates faster.
