Leila's P.o.v.

"Well, well, well," the blonde spoke. "Look who we have here? It's the emo from before. I thought you had wanted to go die in a ditch somewhere. I think it would've done us all a favor, don't you think girls?"

I clenched my fists as her and her squad laughed at me. Before I could say something, Lilly spoke up. "Hey, back off, Abby! She did nothing to you, and she's not emo! Just because you wear black doesn't mean your emo!"

Abby turned her head to her. "And then we have the Indian girl. Why don't you cut your hair, before you end up like Rapunzel?"

Lilly's eyes flared. "Dog, I am no princess, let alone Rapunzel!" She took a step toward her. "If I had a spare shoe, I'd smack that ugly ass face. But it looks like I'm going to have to do it during the game. Come on, Leila, let's be ready to kick this bitch and her friends asses." Lilly dragged me over to the other side, taking me away from them.

"Lilly, do you know them or something?" I asked.

She nodded. "They were at my old school. She always thinks that she's popular, always bringing down other people. My friend and I always had to avoid her, but we'd somehow end up in a conflict with them." She let out a frustrated sigh. "The only thing she looks like to me is an effing Barbie!"

I let out a snicker, and Lilly smiled. A whistle blew throughout the court, coming from the coach. "Alright, cut off that talking and get into positions. When I count to three, I will blow this whistle, signaling for you to go. Got that?" We all nodded. "Ok. One, two...three!"

A loud whistle blew throughout the area, and we dashed off to get the ball.

"Hey, pass it to me!"

"No, me!"

"Get out of the way!"

"You can make it!"

"Great shoot!"

"Nice one!"

"Pass it!"

The ball was being passed to each other, and shots were being made. The game was long, and the shoots to win were shortened to ten. The score was a tense nine to nine, the ball constantly being fought over. Lilly had the ball, dodging each person trying to steal it from her.

I ran by her side, trying to protect the ball from her. We were so close to the basket, tensions were growing between the two teams. I could see Abby race for me and Lilly, a smug look on her face. What is up with her, I'm not even emo!

Abby and her friends ran in front of her, one friend on each side of her. "Just give up the ball already, Lilly! It'll make it much easier for you anyway!" She taunted.

"Yeah, like that's gonna happen!" Lilly shot back. "Hey, Leila! Catch!" She threw the ball, the ball soaring over them and landing into my hands with a thump. "You got this, girl!"

I smiled, and ran toward the basket. 'Come on, Leila, you can do this! Just a little more!' I tensed my legs for a jump, about to score the final basket for our team. My feet shuffled, and I jumped up.

"Oh, you are not going to make that score!" A voice echoed. A large force crashed into me, knocking me to the ground, hard.

"Ugh," I moaned as I looked up to see who had pushed me down. It was none other than Abby. "What the hell? Why'd you push me over, it's against the fucking rules!"

"Not against my rules," she said while flipping her hair. "And to make it obvious, you lost the ball. And our point will be taken in about three, two..." I heard a swish coming from the other direction. "One. Our team won, all thanks to me."

"Yeah, and you won by cheating! That's not fair!" Lilly joined in by my side, picking me up to my feet. "Leila would've scored for our team if you hadn't pushed her down. She would've won fair, the right thing to do."

Abby rolled her eyes at Lilly. "Yeah, and I know that already. Fair just isn't me, you know? Now if you'll excuse me, the game is over, and I need to get to class. Bye, losers." She turned around, her and her friends snickering about my fall. What a bunch of assholes.

"Hey, you ok?" A voice interrupted. "That looked like a pretty hard fall. Did you hurt anything?"

I looked, seeing Lilly. "Kind of. I hurt my arm a bit, but I guess it'll be fine. I can't believe it, she just picks on me because she thinks I'm emo. I'm not even emo, let alone goth. I just decided to wear black, and even though black is one of my favorite colors, doesn't mean it's bad. I mean come on, really?"

Lilly sighed. "Some people will just be bullies." She stayed quiet for a moment, them met my gaze. "You know, you seem like a cool girl. Do you think I could come over to your place and hang out? I mean, only if you want me to."

I grinned. "Yeah, sure! I mean, all of my friends are at other schools, so I'm pretty much without friends at the moment. Right now though, I consider your my only friend for now, so why turn down the offer?"

She patted my back, and started to walk off. "See you after school! Oh, and you live near the school, right?" She called.

"Yeah, about a block or two near! You'll find it!" I called back.

"Well, see you then! Bye, Leila!"

"Bye, Lilly!"

I looked after Lilly, smiling. 'Wow, my first friend here made in one day. This might not be so bad.'
