As day shifts into night, the sky painting itself navy with stars, Izuku was alone yet again. Each day seemed to grow more and more depressing for him, having cold air replacing the nice warmth that once comforted him. He missed the heterochromatic teen. He missed the hugs that he gave him. Sometimes he'd give him small, soft kisses on the tip of his nose before they would sleep. Small things like that had Midoriya head over heels for him.

Their relationship was one envied by many, it seems so perfect. They'd never be seen apart and the PDA shown was not pushed upon people as if to make someone jealous, the amount displayed was enough to thaw even the coldest of hearts. Each moment spent together seemed to be enjoyed on both ends.

The two males would be seen walking into school, hand in hand, Shouto would actually be smiling. It was a small smile, but still a smile. Todoroki's cheeks would be painted in a light pink hue, his different coloured eyes twinkling in pure love and happiness.

Midoriya would be grinning with joy, his cheeks puffed and eyes squinted. His green locks would bounce lightly as they walked and his hand would tighten every now and then, almost for protection- he felt safe.

With all this being said, it came as a surprise to many that their relationship suddenly came to a halt, the two randomly going their separate ways. Everyone was just as shocked as Deku was when he was told by Todoroki that they should break up, no reasoning, no empathy. It was blunt, insensitive and straight to the point.

Shouto gulped and stared into his soon to be ex-lovers' green orbs. "We should break up, Midoriya" His words seemed like daggers piercing his heart, feeling it deflate and sink into his stomach. "Shouto I-"

"Only people close to me get to call me Shouto..."

Deku couldn't lie and say that what Todoroki said, didn't cause him to break down into pieces. It did. It did and it hurt so much. Not only did it hurt him, but it hurt the emotionless boy. Shouto did love him. He has for as long as he could remember, and he doesn't think he'll ever stop loving him. So why? Why did he do this? Two words.

Enji Todoroki. This man had ridiculed the aspiring hero since he was as little as five years old, beatings would be his training, hiding away from society to cover up the fact that he was weak. He would lose himself to the guilt and shame, the painful feelings devouring him to where they become apart of his soul, apart of him, buried deep down and covered by the layer of lies. And now, this man had managed to tear him away from the only person that made him truly happy. The only person that made him feel anything at all. Midoriya took him away from the numbness, whether it was pain or pleasure, hate or love. At least he felt something. That something was nothing but love. And that love burned fiercer than any flames than his father could ever enlight.

Todoroki watched as the other choked on his own sobs, gripping his shirt tightly, trying to find the words to say. There was nothing Midoriya could say. Nothing positive at least. "You- You said you loved me.." That stunned him a little. He couldn't say the truth. He couldn't tell him how much he meant to him. "Midoriya listen-"

"You said you loved me, dammit!"

Izuku yelled, he yelled as loud as he could. He wanted him to know how he felt inside. Each moment of happiness they shared seemed to all be crashing down on him. Why this? Why now? They were doing so well. They were doing just fine. So, "Why..?" His voice cracked. It was high-pitched and almost pathetic. And he knew Shouto thought that too. Silence crept upon them again far too quickly, there were no more painful sounds of the boy's sobs. There was no more shouting. Just silence. And then, there was a sigh.

Just like that, Izuku left. The whole situation ended as quick as it started.

They were no longer a perfect cliché.

And yet despite that,

They still managed to make this story of pain and heartbreak as cliché as it could possibly get.
