All eyes were on me, there was no way I was getting out of there un-noticed. Crap. They stood there in silence for a minute before some random man in the corner yelled out, "Hey, why don't you tell us who your real mate is?"
"Uhhhhhh" After another moment or so of confusion Sam spoke up.
"Honey, do you even know what a mate is?"
I shook my head no, gulping as everyone stared at me in confusion.
"Is she human?" One yelled out.
"She doesn't smell human." Another answered
"Wh-what? I-I'm a human and I-I th-think I'm gonna g-go, um, thank you but I d-don't think I can accept th-this j-job." I barely got out, my hands starting to shake a little from the nerves.
I turned around to leave but faster than I could even comprehend, Warrick was in front of me, blocking the door. What the hell?
"How did you - weren't you just - uh"
"Sorry baby girl but you're not going anywhere" He responded softly. I thought for a moment I must be dreaming and decided to slap myself in the face, hard. When I did, everyone around the room stared at me like I was the crazy one. Sure they were talking about how I didn't smell human and I was the weird one.
A couple of them giggled at this, a few smirked, a few frowned with worry or pity in their eyes. I didn't want their pity though, I didn't want any of this, I just wanted a job.
Suddenly the receptionist came walking through the elevator. "Hey! What are you doing with my mate!" She yelled, quickly walking towards me. I flinched back, making her halt as everyone else groaned. She looked around confused. Join the club lady.
I started to panic. This was all too much I just wanted a job. I backed away a little too quickly and ended up bumping into someone else.
"S-sorry, just p-please" He looked down at me with pity in his eyes. He tried to bring me into a big bear hug but I ducked under is arms and tried to run. When I did someone else grabbed me. It was all too much, this couldn't be happening. This couldn't happen to me. I'm no one, I just needed a job.
I started hyperventilating, the corners of my vision going black until the darkness had taken over completely. This couldn't be happening. Maybe I should just sleep and when I wake up all will be normal again.

I opened my eyes to a white ceiling. That's weird. My basement ceiling was a grey cement. How hard did Dad beat me this time? Where am I? I blinked my eyes in confusion and looked around. Around me were white walls, floors and a white chair. Everything was completely white.
I sat up quickly, starting to panic. I looked down to see I was tucked into a bed which was, surprise, surprise, white. I got up, looking around. The room had no windows and one of the walls was made entirely of mirror.
I looked down to find myself in a white hospital gown.
Everything started flowing back to me. Getting kicked out of my house, the meeting, the models.
"Its, happened, its finally happened. I've officially gone crazy." I mumbled to myself, looking around again.
Just as I said that a door that I hadn't noticed before opened. Some random guy walked in an gasped a little when we made eye contact. He shook his head a little gritting his teeth.
"You're not crazy, though I understand we have a lot to explain. Here, take this and I'll bring you to our Alph-" He coughed a little, "Our, uh, boss."
He handed me some new clothes that I had never seen before. They were beautiful. It was a white cropped sweater and a a pair of ripped jeans. "One of the females had an extra pair of clothes here." He said before leaving, giving me some privacy.
Once he closed the door I changed quickly, not wanting to upset anyone by taking too long. They were the nicest and comfiest clothes I had ever worn. I smiled down at them, running my hands over the soft material covering my arms.
After a couple more minutes of me admiring the clothes the same man came back in. When he did I gave him a big thankful smile. I realize that they sort of kidnapped me and were really weird but I couldn't help it. I was just so happy with the clothes.
I giant smile lit up his face his serious face. He looked down, his cheeks turning a little pink, he was cute. He wasn't a large man per se, about 5'9 and pretty lean but he seemed pretty tough nonetheless.
He shook his head a little again and tried to suppress the smile before opening the door wider, "After you." He said.
I gave him another little smile, giggling a little at his embarrassment for blushing as I walked past him through the door. He led me down a large hallway, all white of course.
"So, what's your name?" I decided to ask. The silence was letting my mind run which was a bad idea so I decided to distract myself.
The man looked a little shocked but answered anyways. "My n-name?"
I nodded encouragingly.
"J-James Kilon."
I smiled and nodded. "So, what do you do?"
"I'm- uh, a uh whatchamacallit... a shit" He mumbled to himself, looking a little panicked. I decided to leave it as he was uncomfortable.
I noticed the ring on his finger. "Do you have children?" He smiled a little at this, seemed to be lost a little in his thoughts, I could see him calming down. "Ya, my wife and I have two children. Kassie and Mira, identical twins, 5 years old in a week."
"Can I see a picture?"
He nodded happily before excitedly pulling out his phone. He showed me pictures of the two of them. They had his same brown eyes and light brown hair but their skin color was much darker. "They're beautiful." I said, and I was not lying at all.
"My wife is in the meeting we're walking into. I'd love for you two to meet, I could see you being friends." He said with a giant smile on his face. My face lit up at that too. Friends. I was going to have a friend.
We finally exited the hallway back into the reception area that I recognized. James and I continued to chat, laughing with each other as he told me all about his kids. He looked so happy to talk about them. I loved the way his eyes lit up with pride, the way father's used to before he started beating me.
While we were walking through I noticed the receptionist staring at me again. I decided to give her a little smile this time and her cheeks lit up red. Weird...
Listening to James talk about his happy life made me sad to be honest. Would I ever have that? He was such a sweet man though, he really deserved it unlike me. What the hell is this place? I mean the basically kidnapped me. I would try and run but I have no idea where I'd go. I really need to hear an explanation.
"We've arrived!" James beamed. He opened the door the giant smile still plastered on his face. When he opened it there was a round of gasps and growls. Yes, growls. Again I heard the same few words, mine and mate but this time they mumbled it to themselves, staring at me. I had seen most of the people before but there was a new one, sitting at the head of the table next to Warrick. He was very large, maybe 6'3 and full of muscles. He looked me in the eyes and growled very loudly. Everyone went silent at this, staring at their laps, tilting their heads to the side a little in a weird way. What the hell is going on here?
