Atlanta's POV
I closed my eyes, letting the world slip away. The pain finally faded and a fell peaceful. Next thing I knew I was in a forest. I was walking and everywhere I went the sun seemed to follow despite the shade of the trees.
I came across a peaceful brook, running my hands through the gentle current. A bird flew down from the sky flying in a circle around my singing a little before landing on a nearby branch.
I sat down and saw a fox across the stream. It leaped across then settle down next to me. I pet its beautiful orange fur as I relaxed under the sun. Next thing I knew there was a man standing across the stream.
He had long blonde hair that fell onto his shoulders. He was shirtless leaving his perfect body on display. He had this powerful aura about him that actually seemed to relax me further.
We made eye contact and he smiled. "Atlanta." He greeted as he made his way over to me. When he sat I felt a fresh wave a calm wash over me.
"Am I dead? Is this paradise?"
"Yes you are dead. For now, but this is not your eternal resting place."
Im dead. What a horrible way to go. I never even got my first boyfriend or my first kiss. Oh my god I died a virgin.
"Why are those the thoughts going through your head right now" He chuckled making me shrug in embarrassment.
Ah shit he can read my thoughts that's extremely embarrassing.
"What do you mean I'm dead for now?"
"You don't belong here. You're not even close to finished on earth, you've barely even begun."
I looked at him confused?
"Am I being reborn or something? Oh god is this where you wipe my memories? Actually that might be nice. Forget about that horrible life. If I knew this was how I was going to die, never being happy I would've killed myself years ago." I huffed, frustrated. "Who are you anyways?"
"I'm Henrick, your mother sent me."
"My mother? That old drunk? Not possible."
"Not your earth parents, child, those are not even really your parents. "
I just nodded along. Okay what the fuck.
He chuckled again.
"Stop reading my mind!" I scolded, crossing my arms like a child. Can you please explain what's going on properly then?
"You died on earth, yes, no one could've withstood a tenth of the lashes you received, you're very strong you know. Everyone on earth has been worshipping you since your death."
"Wait, what? How long have I been dead?"
"10 years."
"10 YEARS!" I exclaimed jumping up, "HOW?!"
"Your body needed time to heal, you have been in a peaceful slumber but its time to go back. You're ready."
"You're really going to have to explain more please. I'm so confused I mean, why me? I'm just some random human runt who was beaten by her parents and has literally achieved nothing in her life. I couldn't even get a job for god sakes!"
"Its time." Was al he replied with.
Right as I was about to yell out my questions at him in exasperation everything went black. I blinked my eyes open and slowly became aware of my body again. I was back on earth, I could feel it.
