Lance P.O.V.
"Uncle Lance, Uncle Lance, get up!" Allie screamed as she tried hard to shake me awake. I was hoping if I kept my eyes shut and didn't move, she would go away. With Dom and Autumn stopping by in the middle of the night. I was working off of four hours of sleep. I was already exhausted from my doubles at the hospital.
"Uncle Lance !" She screamed even louder, pushing me with all the strength, her little body could offer. I knew she wasn't going to let up; she was determined. One of the many things she gets from her father. I peeked one eye open and closed it back instantly.
"I saw you, uncle Lance." She said as she giggled, bringing her tiny hands to my face, forcing my eyes to open herself. I missed moments like these. I knew it hurt Dom when she got taken away. But it bothered me too. I watched her grow, just like he did. I knew if anything was to happen to him. I would take her in a heartbeat. I grabbed her little hands, making my eyelids shut.
"Your dad ever tell you not to bother people when their sleeping?" I said, turning my head, opening my eyes fully on my own this time. Giving her the attention she so desperately wanted.
"No, but I can bother you now that you're not sleeping." She said, pulling out my grasp as she started jumping up and down on my bed. I don't understand how she can have so much energy this early in the morning. I remained laying down with my eyes closed. The only moving brought to me was from her. Every jump she made was a shake for me. After a minute of her jumping, I knew she wasn't going to stop. I grabbed her leg, pulling it, making her land on her butt. She started giggling, and I hopped up and started tickling her.
"You woke the tickling monster up now!" I screamed in a gravelly voice. She screamed as she tried to run away, but I swept her in my arms. Exiting my room and heading to the kitchen. Once we reached, I set her down on the countertop. I knew she wanted cereal. So I went straight to my cupboards to pull out a bowl and spoon for her and me both. I set them down where I placed her and went to my pantry, opening it, revealing it to her.
"Cinnamon toast crunch!" She screamed happier than ever.
"Good choice." I said, smiling at her. I was a cereal man myself. Anything she picked, I was going to eat regardless. I went over to the fridge, grabbing out the almond milk. Once back in front of her with our main ingredients. I let her get to work with serving us. She made a bit of a mess pouring the milk because it was heavy, but that comes with learning. It was the fact she was doing it by herself, gaining that independence. We talked, laughed, and ate.
When we got done, I took our bowls, dropping them in the sink. I picked her up, putting her back on the ground. I walked, and she followed. I went back to my room to get the sleep out of our eyes and the morning breath, too, as we entered the restroom. I lifted her, putting her on the sink. I knew her tiny self couldn't see over the counter. She grabbed her toothbrush out the holder and handed me mine. I thanked her as I poured toothpaste on our brushes. We took care of our morning routine together.
