"I peep how you guys been arriving to work these past couple days." I said, popping into Autumn's office, closing the door behind me. I didn't want other people around the office to hear me and her conversation. Running into them over the weekend gave me a better understanding of what they had going on. She looked up from her computer, smiling. I took a seat in one of the chairs in front of her desk. I gave her that look saying spill it.
"Well, we made it official, official last Sunday." She was smiling from ear to ear.
"Like, yaul dating ? " she nodded her head up and down as she smiled even harder.
"We both knew we wanted to be more than friends, but Mr. Thomas wanted that yes from that special someone, and let's just say they were more than thrilled." I tried to read around all the corners. I knew there was information in her relationship that was for them only, and I didn't want to dig too deep. I was just happy that she was happy.
"Well, I'm happy for you. I'll still deny it when others get to be nosy." I said laughing
"Okay, but honestly, we don't care. We keep our personal from our professional. They can talk all they want. If they see us outside of work, then so be it." She was right. What they had going on with them was not effecting our checks. But yet people still wanted to be nosy. A lot of the women and men here are shocked that Autumn is Mr. Thomas type. But, I think she's beautiful and I'm more so shocked he is her type. I would have never thought she would do pink dick, but when that dick is treating you right, why not? A knock at the door interrupted our conversation.
"Come in." Autumn yelled the door pushed open, revealing Mr. Thomas. I got nervous immediately. I knew I was supposed to be doing work, but I was in here chatting with Autumn. I stood up as I made my way to the door.
"You don't have to leave Ms. Campbell. I came in here to ask Autumn a quick question" He chuckled a little, I'm sure he can sense my uneasiness. I watched as he headed to Autumn's desk, setting a paper in front of her as he stood behind her, looking over it as well.
"This is not adding up." He said, pointing to something on the paper.
"I did some extra research on that because I noticed that too." She looked up at him.
"And." He said, giving her all his attention and the paper none.
"They received the alert from our system, but someone on their team failed to pull back there assets causing them to get hit." He nodded his head as he picked up the paper and headed for the door. Before he could leave, he returned his attention to Autumn.
"Lunch?" Autumn smiled while shaking her head, yes. He turned his attention to me, smiled, and left the room, closing the door behind him. I looked at Autumn, and she started cracking up laughing. I knew she sensed how nervous I was.
"You have got to calm down when around him." She said as she continued laughing.
"I was calm; what you mean?" I said, trying to play it off.
"Right, you turned into Usain Bolt when he entered."
"Shut up." I laughed at her last statement. She threw her hands up in surrender. I made my way to the door pulling it open, leaving her to work and me to get back to mines.
