the sound of screaming ricocheted off the thin walls inside of eddy's home. brett jumped from the yell and almost knocked the towels off from the bathroom.

he was visiting eddy after a long day of school. he was stressed from the amount of pieces he had to learn for his class and private teacher. he was supposed to be home by now, being at his best friend's house for over an hour, but he simply didn't feel like it.

his mom's constant nagging and complaints about how he's slowly drifting away from her made him want to actually do what she accuses him of.

it's not that he's intending to, it's just that the days seem to be getting more dull and boring. especially since eddy has also been quite busy with his own stuff.

another scream was heard in his ears.

well, more like eddy has been busy with a certain someone.

he groaned and cover his face with his rough hands. he felt his fingertips brace him. they were all bumpy and scratched. some little red marks here and there. he's been practicing as hell for his next audition.

it's been awhile since him and eddy played together. almost a few months since they departed from their youth orchestra. they were now heading to the big leagues, soon being able to perform out of their town.

yet both had two different ideas.

brett found this one orchestra with a company near his home. practices were not much, but they sure did lay him with a lot of pieces.

eddy decided to continue playing only in his school. he would use the excuse of not being able to make time for the violin.

brett internally scoffed at the saying as he remembered a conversation they had not too long ago.

"why would you do that? you have so much potential. you've been playing for such a long time and you're gonna waste it for an hour in a classroom."

"oh please, brett. i can do what i want and what i want is to lay back on the violin."

"i still think it's a bad idea."

"you think everything is bad."

brett sighed. he rubbed his eyes and put his glasses back on as he headed back to his friend's door.

as his hands hovered over the doorknob he heard faint giggling from the other side.

he didn't want to open it to reveal a scene he would not be prepared for, but he couldn't make up an excuse why he would be in the restroom for so long.

he swung the door open, seeing his best friend on his bed murmuring something into a brunettes ear. the mop of hair shook lightly as they placed a hand on eddy's chest, gesturing for him to quite down, glancing at the sight of brett.

eddy still held his smile he was holding for the girl beside him and looked at his shorter friend. brett warmed at the row of crooked teeth showing towards him. yet deep down he knew it was not just for him anymore.

"hey brett. you took awhile." he said, with his head slightly tilting to the side, as if taunting him.

brett only responded with a dry laugh and trudged towards his friend's desk. he had laid his homework on here, but never actually got anything done without the constant giggling and laughter behind him.

he decided to just pick everything up and pack into his backpack.

maybe it was time to go home.
