"Alright students" Headmaster Seagus started to speak. "It is time for the sorting cloak, you will be called up in alphabetical order...you get called up by your first name..not your last. Now, you will get called up and the sorting cloak will be placed on your shoulders." As he said this a rather old woman came and placed a rack down, the rack had a cloak on it that was a sky blue with green patches in a few spots. "Do NOT touch the cloak, it doesn't like to be touched."
That last sentence confused Agnes quite a bit..."Cloaks do not have feelings..."she thought. "They are simply inanimate objects." Seagus continued his speech.
"The cloak will yell out your house...remember Griffins, Snakes, Ravens, and Hufpufs! You will then go to the corresponding flag" Agnes noticed four older looking boys, most likely 5th years, holding up flags. They each had a picture on them that corresponded with their animal. The Hufpuf flag was quite strange, the animals were only silloutes so she could Agnes couldn't picture what it actually was. "Now let the ceremony begin!"
There were quite a few students before Agnes, she couldn't recall any of their names but she remembered their houses. There was two Griffins, three Ravens, a Snake, and two Griffins. Soon her name was called "Agnes..Agnes Fickle?"
Agnes walked up hesitantly to the podium, putting the cloak on her shoulders. She closed her eyes and the cloak yelled something that made her smile uncontrollably.
