"Cap, hit the lever." We hear Tony through the earpiece. I'm still flying up to the aircraft, almost there.
"In a minute!" Steve says as I'm trying to hurry up there so that Steve could hit the lever.
"Lever, now!" Tony says impatiently. I finally reach the aircraft and fly closer to it. I swing Steve and throw him up to the railings. He lands on his feet and runs to the lever. He pulls the lever and I come to stand by him. The sound of gun shots come blasting through my ears and I look down to see another enemy shoot at us. I open my mouth and scream knocking him over.
I drop to my knees out of tiresome. I didn't rest when I did my first scream earlier. It did take a tole of me, but I had to save Steve. Steve comes over to me as I watch the man stand back up with his gun all weary. I then watch Tony fly and knock him over.
"Kate, are you alright?" Steve asks as he bends down to my level. I feel my eyes go blurry and I take slow breathers.
"Kate?" I hear Steve call out. I watch his blue eyes stare into mine. He looks all around my face trying to find a solution. He stands up and pulls me up. He throws my arm over the back of his neck and I try to adjust my feet to the floor. I can walk, slightly.
"Come on, now." He says as he begins to walk. I push my feet to help myself walk. My vision and strength feels weak and all I want to do is lay down and rest.

I wake up from a very needed nap. I flutter my eyes open and look up at the metal ceiling. I'm in my room. I hear a small movement and shift my eyes to my right to see Steve sitting in the corner looking at a picture. It's a picture of me, my dad and my mom. It was when I graduated high school.
Looking at Steve, I wonder how high school was in his time. How was everyone dressed? What were their slang? Where'd they go after school? How were the teachers like? To jump quickly through time makes me so intrigued into Steve.
"How does it feel?" I ask. He looks up and turns to me.
"Excuse me?" He asks in confusion. I also sit up on the bed and watch him. I look at the picture in his hand and then back at him.
"How does it feel to wake up seventy years after the war?" I correct myself. He goes into deep thought and looks down at the picture. He hands it to me and I take the picture. I look at it and see how happy I was with my parents.. alive.
"Lots have changed, of course. This technology.. it's very handy. It's like entering a vortex of some kind of.."
"New world?" I finish his sentence.
"Yeah, some kind of new world." He smiles at me and flashes me those big blue eyes again. I smile at him again and then break eye contact. I can never see myself having eye contact with him for more than 15 seconds.
"You know," he begins, "I want to thank you for saving my life."
"I should be thanking you for saving mine first. That grenade looked vicious." I say jokingly. He chuckles and I just smile at him. I'm glad he's come to me. I wanted to thank him for saving me before, but there was no time. I guess he beat me to it.
