They pushed through the crowd, "This is a mess, we should just leave." Freddy said, trying not to get elbowed.
"We have to push forward! Or else our town will go bankrupt!" Sarah yelled, pushing. The crowd silenced as a loud war-horn was blown. 3 Shadowey figures tumbled to the ground, surrounding the king.
"Ah, here they are." The king said with a strong brooklyn accent. "Townsmen, meet Kitten division." He introduced the figures as they climbed out of the shadows. They were cats, cats in armor and sharpened claws. The cats stood up, they were much more human-like. Their eyes glaring daggers at the crowd.
The villagers ran away, leaving only Freddy and Sarah. The king eyed them, looking impressed but displeased. "What art thou doing? Begone from thou's sight!" The king shooed them. "Wh-No way!" Sarah yelled, Freddy trying to stop her. "That's the king you're talking to, Sarah! You're out of your mind!" He said
"Listen to the boy child. I can smite you in an instant." The king spat. "Now, begone with you. You reek of pessant." The king swatted the air, kitten division pushing his cart away. "But I have a proposition!" Sarah yelled, running after the king's cart. The king raised his hand, the cats stopped pushing. "A proposition, you say?" He turns around, clearly interested.
"Y-Yes!"Freddy panted out, catching up. "We devised a plan to earn enough money to fix your castle, our town is going bankrupt with all of your taxes and we're getting into debt!" Sarah started. "If we can offer our services by taking on quests from neighboring kingdoms, we can earn enough money to fix the damage brought to your castle!" Sarah said
"Wait, what?!" Fredy shook his head. "WE agreed to provide our services!" He said. "Yes, our services for other kingdoms by takingin quests!" Sarah said, happily "But we never agreed to-"
"I think that's a great idea!" The king interrupted. "I'd be happy to accept this offer, on one condition." sarah perked up "What do you propose?" She asked. "While you are taking quests, I'll be collecting taxes during intermission." He said. "I need something to pay my bills." He said, smirking.
"You think negotiating with the king was a good idea?" Freddy asked, unsure. "Well, it's all we can really do. It doesn't matter if it was a good idea or not." She said, walking back into the forest.
The sun started to set, more animals came outside. Tree trolls crawling out from their stumps and flower sprites flowing in the dusk wind. Manta-ray in the sky, migrating like a flock of birds. "The forest if magnificent at night." Sarah commented, amazed by what she was witnessing.
They sat in the flower field, Sarah picked flowers and created a bouquet. Butterflies landed on the flowers, their wings were reflective (like mirrors) and had a light blue pigment to them. Suddenly, the world around Sarah morphed, what she saw was a crowd of people surrounding a building at night. The building had a beautiful garden. Lights came from every window and speakers blaring the sound of children reciting lines.
The scene morphed back into the meadow. "Sarah? Sarah??" Freddy waved his hand in her face. Sarah shook her head. "You're day dreaming, again." Freddy comented. Sarah looked in her hand, the butterflies were gone
"Come on, lets go." Sarah said, getting up and walking into the forest. "O-kay then..?" Freddy followed, deciding not to question her weird behavior.
