Chapter 21

We shopped until we got tired. Our hands full of shopping bags. We put the bags in my SUV. And got inside the cafe.
Sara: who wants food?
I said pointing at the shop.
Chae: believe me this was the first time you've treated us.
Sara: this is gonna be the first and the last time that I'm treating you.
I said with a mysterious wink. We ordered our food and sat down.
Mina: let's play truth or dare.
Sara: sure I'm down for it.
Chae: me too.
As everyone agreed.
Sara: guys let me get the food first.
I said getting up and waking without hearing their opinion. I was walking when someone bumped into me.
Sara: you little as-
I was cut off guard when I realized it was my dad.
Sara: dad
dad:Sara
We both said at the same time.
Sara: what a great place to meet.
I said giving him a tight hug. He's pretty young. He's like 32 but he looks like he's 25. Anyone would think that he's my boyfriend. I pulled out.
Dad: what are you doing here baby girl.
He said wrapping his arm around my shoulder.
Sara: I'm here with my girls.
Dad: where are they?
I pointed to where they were sitting.
Dad; then why are you here?
I pointed towards the tray on the counter.
Dad: oh I get it.
Sara: wanna join us?
I said picking up the two trays.
Dad: nah. I'll be heading to office now. Maybe I'll go home later tonight.
Sara: promise?
I said showing my pinky finger.
Dad: promise.
He said intertwining it with mine. I smiled at him before he left me. I went to the table and they started to throw questions at me.
Chae: is that your boyfriend, Sara?
Luna: he's so handsome.
Mona: he's so cute. You even hugged him. I'm glad you found someone.
Sana: you two are good couples.
Mina: I count that two.
Sara: let me say something.
Chae: sure.
She said excitedly.
Sara: first he's my dad. Second he is handsome. Thirdly he's my dad so why can't I hug him. And fourthly he's cute. Is all your questions answered?
I fired them back with a question.
Chae: WHAT. That's your dad. Mianhae mianhae. Mianhae. We didn't realize who he was.
Sara: Sometimes, I also get confused seeing my dad. He's 32 but he looks like he's 25.
Chae: I know. Your mom is really lucky.
Sara: ugh. Give it up.
Just then my eyes went big as I saw jungkook holding another girl's hand behind chae's head. He's even laughing hard.
Sara: so this is what he's doing when he's not with the others and me.
Chae: what? Who are you taking about?
Sara: nothing. I'm going to the washroom.
I excused myself and went to the direction jungkook went. I found him kissing the girl on the lips.
Sara: so now you decided to cheat.
I whispered as I walked to him. As I got closer he pulled out and looked into her eyes. As I got close to him and now standing in front of him. He got startled by my sudden presence.
Jungkook: S-Sara I c-can e-expl-
I slapped him right on his left cheek. He touched his cheek that has turned red as he didn't have the courage to say anything.
Sara: I knew you were a playboy. This is why I had never trusted you.
I left him there with the girl comforting him. I didn't even glanced back before going back to the table.
Sara: let's go home girls.
Chae: why so quick? It's like 6:35pm. We have plenty of time.
Sara: I said GET IN THE CAR.
I started waking out of the mall as they all followed me. I sat in the drivers seat and buckled myself up. They all got settled. I started the engine. The whole ride was quite. We could all feel the tension in the air. I dropped each of them at their houses with all their belongings that they bought. And the last one left was chae. That's when she decided to break the silence.
Chae: are you okay, baby girl?
Sara: I'm totally fine.
I said with my eyes still focused on the road. I reached in front of her house. She got off and took her stuffs before.
Chae: can you pick me up tomorrow?
Sara: okay.
She nodded and got inside her house. As soon as she got in I drove to Han River. Now I found myself sitting on a bench watching the lake flowing.
I'm so done with everything. I want to die. But I can't. I have to win in the competition. Maybe I'll find a way to kill myself after that stupid competition. I hate being a cheerleader. I want to live a new life. Somewhere different. Where no one knows me. I'll be on my own and none can interfere with my precious happy life. Yes, I'll go away from Seoul after the competition. I'm leaving home Without telling mom and dad.
I stood up and drive back home. I walked in and it was quite. I guess she's not home. This is the opportunity. I got my bag ready and put it in my wardrobe and locked it.
Sara: now. I only need some clothes for four days here.
I turned my laptop on and booked a flight to LA,USA.  Maybe I'll find a new life there. After booking the tickets. I took a shower and got into my pjs. I didn't eat anything after I left from the mall. I think I lost my appetite for the night. As far as I can remember when my head hit the pillow I fell asleep. And the next thing I knew was that I woke up by my alarm. I stretched my arms before getting out of the bed. I took a shower and wore plain white shirt with black shorts. And my white kyrie's. I grabbed my bag and phone and went downstairs. No one was there to greet me morning. I got an apple from the fridge and walked it while playing with it. Before I got out I heard a car driving off from in front of our house. I ignored it and got in my BMW and drove off to school. Before I got out i wore a black mask and wore a black cap over my head. I walked in and no one seemed to notice me. I got my stuffs from my locker and went to the classroom without any attention. I sat down on my chair.
Chae: hey you can't sit here. This is Sara's seat.
I looked shocked by her statement. Did she not realize me. I took off my mask and her eyes went big.
Chae: wow you look totally different with that mask on Sa-
I covered her mouth.
Sara: stop talking too much. I'll get a headache if you talk too much.
She pulled my hand away from her mouth.
Chae: fine I'll stay quite just for today.
Sara: kamsanamida.
Chae: gwanchana.
The teacher came in but where are the boys.
Mr.Kim: if anyone is wondering where the boys are? They are practicing for their big game and as for Sara I thought she'd be there to represent our school. But she rejected the opportunity.
I was satisfied with his statement about me not performing.
Chae: you're actually not performing?
She leaned closer to me and whispered. I shook my head as a no. She nodded and leaned back to her chair and robbed her nape. The class ended fast.
* after school*
I got in my car. Before starting the engine. I noticed a figure running towards my car in the rare glass. As soon as it came close I noticed it was no other then jungkook. Without noticing my hand reached for the key starting the engine and drive off.
Sara: that was close Sara.
Then the red red signal light turned and I had to wait. While waiting I turned the volume up to hear the lyrics of the recent song that is being played on the radio.

I can't guess what the songs name was but the lyrics are very touching. The green light turned and I drove at my full speed since there are no cars at this time on this road. I got to my house and found my dad and mom sitting on the couch.
Sara: hi eomma and papa.
They nodded. It's very unusual for them to act like this. But mom spoke up.
Mom: why are you not gonna perform?
Dad: is something wrong?
Sara: I am. But only Ms.lee and I know about this.
Dad: we're going.
Sara: as you like. But no one should know about this.
They nodded. I head to my room and the black colour just seem to be my type. I love this room more now. But as soon as my eyes shifted around I remembered that this is probably my last day in this room. I'll miss one and every detail of this room. Then I remembered I'll have a new life waiting for me in LA. But I have to take every step carefully since my dad also has a company there.
Sara: forget the past. Forget every pain. Forget the emotions. Forget the irreplaceable love. After all forget the person.
I reminded myself. I took a shower and laid down on my bed. I looked at my new phone on the table.
Sara: tomorrow will be a big day.
