“But I—”
“Stop!” he yelled, making me flinch.

Lifting his head up, he stared at me with his bloodshot eyes, making my heart clench. He stood up, walking towards me, making me take a couple steps back, until I am completely backed up against the wall.

He placed his hand with a thud on the surface beside my head, making me wince at the sudden sound. I shut my eyes tight, moving my face away, feeling his hot breath fan against the side of my face.

"Stop breaking the rules!" he gritted out, "You are not my wife, you are only the mother of my child; that is all. You and me have no strings attached and never will. You are a characterless, moral less woman and I want nothing to do with you!"

With that, I felt his absence and the loud bang of the door shutting.

I opened my eyes and gasped, releasing a breath I didn't even realize I had been holding. My breathing quivered as I slid down the wall, my throat lumping up and my chest constricting. Tears took their place in my eyes.

You are a characterless, moral less woman and I want nothing to do with you! The words kept ringing in my ears and that's when I realized—

getting married, again was the biggest mistake I could have made.
