CHAPTER 12: Lingering

DIANA'S POV
I am on my way to Jodi's condo now. Kanina pa kong nakangiti simula nang makausap ko si Franki kaninang umaga. I tried hiding my smile away but I just couldn't help it.
She's so damn cute. Sarap nyang ibulsa.

I was about to pull up on the corner street to park my car inside the basement when some random guy suddenly crossed the street.
"What the-"
Bigla akong napatapak sa preno. Thank the Gods I had my seatbelt on!
Sinilip ko kung nasan na yung lalaki ang realized he was still on the ground, malapit sa unahan ng kotse ko.
Natamaan ko ba sya? Parang hindi naman ah.
I decided to exit my car para malaman ko kung anong lagay nya.
"Hey, are you okay?" I asked him but he was still not moving. Tiningnan ko yung harap ng kotse ko but I didn't see any sign that he was hit. I was about to turn my attention back to the guy when he instantly stood up and dashed away.
"Hey wait-" Sigaw ko. Hahabulin ko pa dapat sya kaso nakaliko na sya sa may maliit na eskinita.
Hindi ko masyadong nakita yung mukha nya because he was wearing a black cap. He was also wearing a gray muscle tee and blue jeans.

I just shrugged it off and  went back to my car. I continued to park inside the building.
Dumeretso na ko sa elevator once I entered the premises. I sent Franki a message before the elevator closed.  "I'm on the elevator now. Are guys ready?" I waited for a response but didn't get any until I reached my floor.

*DING*

I walked towards their door at bago pa ako kumatok, huminga muna ako ng malalim. I feel my nerves tingling and I don't know why.

I knocked 3 or 4 times when Maza opened the door for me. She greeted me with a warm smile. "Hi. Come in." I made my way inside.
Uupo na dapat ako sa sofa when Jodi, who was also in the living room, stopped me.

"You should wait on her bedroom and tell her to hurry up. That girl can take forever to get ready. Another thing you have to get used to." She told me with a smirk on her face.
Natigilan ako. Bakit kelangan sa kwarto ko pa sya antayin?

"Can I just wait for her here?" I asked. She gave me a questioning look. "Why? Don't you want to have some alone time with her even just for awhile? Didn't you miss your boo?" She imposed while chuckling.
I sighed. Wala na akong nagawa kundi sundin sya. Naglakad na ko papunta sa kwarto ni Franki. I tried to knock but she wasn't responding.

"Franki?" I called. Di pa rin sya sumasagot. I turned the knob and realized it wasn't locked. I slowly entered the room and closed the door behind me.

"Franki, I'm coming in. Jodi insisted that I should wa-" Natigilan ako sa pagsasalita nang makita ko si Franki sa harap ko... na nakatowel lang.

Her hair was still wet. She looked so endearing even when she was only wearing a white piece of cloth. I noticed she was startled with my presence.
Bigla akong napatalikod. "S-sorry. Si Jodi kase e." I muttered out of embarrassment.
"I-I'll just wait out-" She interrupted me.

"No, it's okay. You might be bombarded with questions if you wait outside. I'll just get dressed in the bathroom." She told me.
When she noticed I was not moving, she spoke again. "You can sit on the bed." I heard her chuckle.
I instantly faced her direction on made my way to the bed without looking at her. I tried to stay calm and sat straight. I heard the door closed behind me. I was guessing na pumasok na sya sa loob ng CR.
Nakahinga ako ng maluwag. I didn't see a hint of awkwardness coming from her. Siguro sanay na din sya sa ganun considering na liberated sa ibang bansa at babae din naman ako.
Pero...Hindi naman ito yung unang beses na nakakita ako ng babaeng nakatowel pero bakit ganto ang nararamdaman ko? She can give me a heart attack with it. Teka bakit parang uminit?
