"Whatever happens... you may think it all a mere bad dream..."
I jerked up, looking around at my surroundings. The pungent smell of death and decay filled my senses, and the darkness was intense. I was laying across a hard surface that mimicked the texture of a large stone platform.. the kind of stone that a corpse would rest upon in medieval times.
"What the... fuck?" I said to myself, regardless of whether or not I was alone. I whipped my legs to the side of the surface I had woken up on, jumping down. A grumbling came from the distance. "Oh, I don't like that.." but I continued to move forward.
I slowly walked to the doors, lit up by a lamp, and opened them to find a small room at the end of a flight of stairs. I walked down, seeing puddles of blood everywhere. The grumbling was louder. I reluctantly approached, only with the intention of figuring out where I was, but saw something much more gruesome.
"What the fuck is that?" I jumped back, seeing a large, wolf-like creature, devouring what looked like another person. I tried to sneak up, but as I walked toward it, it saw me and lunged. "NO!" I screamed as it began to attack me.
-
I must've blacked out once again because when I woke, I was in a completely different location. In front of me sat a human-like doll.
"Where am I?" I said to myself, deciding to look around. I saw something moving on the staircase that led to a building. Considering what had attacked me before, I slowly approached. "Am I in trouble?" I had never been more confused, as I looked through a collection of weaponry. When I picked up the axe and a gun, the other options disappeared. I continued up the stairs, and waiting for me inside was a man in a wheelchair.
-
"Okay.." I said, walking back down the stairs after talking with Gehrman. "Whatever is going on... I have to fight.." The tombstone next to me started to glow. "Okay, that answers my next question... now where the hell do I go?"
After blacking out again, I was back in the blood splattered darkness. I walked back to the wolf creature to seek my revenge, whacking him as hard as I could with my axe until he exploded in thin air. I stood back, looking at the mess I had made, with both disgust and pride.
"That's better," I chuckled, continuing forward. I climbed up the flight of stairs ahead of me, and knocked on the door. A woman's voice came from the other side.
"Are you.. on the hunt?"
"Um... I guess so.." I responded.
"Then I'm very sorry, but.." She was distraught. "I cannot open this door. I am Iosefka. The patients here in my clinic must not be exposed to infection. I know that you hunt for us, for our town, but I'm sorry."
"Can you at least tell me what's going on?" I groaned.
"Please... This is all that I can do.." I obtained an item called 'Iosefka's Blood Vial'. "Now go.. and good hunting."
-
I made my way outside, scared to see whatever was about to come. As I walked forward, I heard a bell. I stopped dead in my tracks, terrified of what it could be.
"What..." I said, and before I knew it, I heard footsteps. I quickly turned around to see a tall woman with long brown hair in a braid. "Whoa there... I'm no threat.." She rolled her eyes, running past me, into a swarm of enemies.
I caught up with the mysterious beauty, and she ran off again. I was frozen in my tracks as I watched her whirl through creatures with the greatest of ease, slicing everything with her dual blades. I was in awe of her ability, yet horrified at how easily she could've killed me if the idea had crossed her mind.
