Part 1 - Present Day

Kairi hovered in the station of awakening, her eyes shot open and she fell to her feet on the stain-glassed floor beneath her.

"Wh...where am I?" Kairi asked no one in particular.

"Kairi?" a voice that sounded similar to Sora's rang out, Kairi instantly turned to see a familiar spiky-haired boy running towards her.

The red-haired girl tilted her head in confusion as she looked the boy over.

This Sora was shorter than she remembered and his outfit was this combination of what looked like a red onesie, a black-and-white jacket, and massive yellow shoes.

As this Sora approached Kairi, she realized it was Sora from when their island was first swallowed in darkness.

"Kairi....are you okay?" The young Sora asked.

"Sora..." Kairi began to speak "..What is going on?" Kairi finished her question.

"Oh come on,Kairi. Don'tcha remember?" This Sora asked as he leaned back with his hands behind his head.

"Why are you here like this?" Kairi asked, bending down so she is at eye level with the boy.

"It's your dream,Kairi...." Sora answered as the Station of Awakening began to shift into Destiny Islands.

Kairi soon found herself on the beach of her island home at night.

The island was soon surrounded in a storm of darkness, Kairi fought to keep herself grounded as the wind began to pick up.

"SORA!" Kairi screamed as the young version of Sora disappeared right before her eyes, she ran towards him as he faded but simply stumbled through his transparent body.

"SORA! SORA!" Kairi continued to scream as she was now left alone on the dark island.

"What's the matter?" Another familiar voice rang out, Kairi turned around to see a version of Riku that she distinctly remembered.

This Riku wore yellow and blue. His shoes were about as big as that Sora's. And he was brimming with darkness.

"...Riku?" Kairi asked nervously.

"I'm not afraid of the darkness!..." Riku spoke as he extended a hand to Kairi.

As the red-haired girl began to take the boy's hand, he began to transform from Riku to Ansem the Dark.

"RIKU!" Kairi screamed as Ansem took her hand forcefully and engulfed the two in darkness.

When the darkness faded and light began to fill Kairi's vision, she noticed Ansem was gone and she was now standing top of the clock tower in Twilight Town.

"This needs to stop!" Kairi exclaimed as she looked around.

"But why?" The voice of Roxas asked as he revealed himself to Kairi "All you have left of Sora are memories...." The nobody finished.

"After all..." Xion's voice said from Roxas's mouth "He died for you." Xion's voice continued as Roxas's body changed to Xion.

"I didn't ask for any of this!" Kairi screamed as she gripped her head in her hands.

"No....but to be fair, you didn't do much of anything." Xion taunted as she came closer to the redhead she was torturing.

"Stop this! Please!" Kairi screamed even louder but her words meant nothing to the raven-haired nobody as she summoned her keyblade

"Oh Kairi....I can't stop this." Xion began as she raised her keyblade and pointed it toward the girl "...Only you can." Xion added before raising her blade higher and striking Kairi diagonally across the body.

Kairi let out a loud scream as she jolted up in her bed. The redhead looked around to see that she was in the safety of her bedroom and gripped her blanket tightly as she tried to control her breathing.

She had another nightmare...again. She kept having them ever since Sora died for her.

She couldn't get him out of her head and hated the guilt she felt over it.

"I....I should calm down..." Kairi whispered to herself as she got out of her bed and walked to her window to look out into the quiet town.

Kairi sighed and looked away from the window.

"I should call someone....but everyone's asleep right now, who'd even be up right now?" Kairi asked herself as she debated picking up her gummiphone and calling anyone.

"Maybe Riku...." Kairi contemplated "No. No. No. I can't bother him...I've been too much of a bother as it is..." Kairi argued with herself.

The next thing Kairi knew, she was pulling up her contacts list and speed dialing Riku.

Riku laid in his bed when his phone began to belt out it's ringtone which woke him up.

The white-haired boy rolled over and picked up his phone.

"Go for Riku..." Riku answered as he tried to wake himself up fully.

"H-Hey Riku...So...How are you?" Kairi asked nervously over the phone.

"What's wrong,Kairi?" Riku asked bluntly as he sat up and scratched his neck casually.

"I had a nightmare....again." Kairi answered defeated.

"Alright,I'm coming over." Riku said as he stood up and walked towards his closet,switching his phone to speaker and setting it down on his bedside table.

"You don't have to do that." Kairi panicked.

"Look Kairi,you've been having nightmares consistently ever since....since Sora..." Riku began to speak but lost his will when the thought of his best friend's death rang out in his head once again "Point is...you need someone." Riku cut himself off and finished his sentence.

The white-haired boy tossed off his black shirt and replaced it with his white v-neck before quickly tossing his jacket over it.

"Riku...I'm fine,really." Kairi spoke out trying to convince Riku not to walk halfway across town just to accompany her.

"Say whatever you want." Riku replied as he finished fastening the belt around his pants "I'm still coming." Riku added as he walked over to his boots.

"....Fine." Kairi answered as she gave in to Riku's company "I'm sorry." she added.

Riku finished lacing up his boots and walked to his phone.

"Don't be." Riku said with a smile that Kairi could hear over the phone "See you soon." he added before hanging up and placing the phone in his pocket.

Riku opened his bedroom window and jumped out of it into the outside, he turned and closed his window so no one could get in while he was gone and ran off in the direction of Kairi's house.
