Chapter 14: Lullaby

Third person's POV
Erratum was tucking Null and Void in. Granny G had just left a few minutes ago. Erratum sighed remembering what the old lady said.

~Flashback start~

Erratum finished reciting what happened during the day. Granny G smiled. "Seems like that was a busy day for you" Erratum wryly smiled. "Ah but you didn't tell me about your colleagues. You did interact with them, yes?"

Erratum rubbed the back of his skull, this gesture answered Granny G. She shook her head. "You should have a chat with them, make some friends. They are good people you know." Erratum sighed "I'lL tRy GrAnNy..."

~Flashback end~

Erratum sighed while taking his seat that was next to the bed. He slowly tapped his fingers on the armrest of the comfy chair. He really didn't know how he was going to make 'friends' with the other teachers when he barely survived the day.

Erratum's eye's widen, he'd forgotten to clean his wounds. Getting up he walked to the bathroom to fetch the first aid kit. Deciding it would be best to clean his wounds in the bathroom, he didn't take it to the living room as he orginally planned. He gently removed his clothing and grabbed a cloth which had a little soap on it. Using warm water, he gently wiped the already dry blood. After that he took antibiotics cream, rubbed it on the wounds and wrapped them up in clean white bandages. Of course he hid the bandages under an outfit that looked exactly like the previous one. Except it looked newer and fresh. Granny G had told him to get more than one pair of clothing so he created a few copies of his outfit.

Erratum clean up and threw the old clothes in the wash. He then walked back to Null and Void's room, but before he walked in he heard soft whimpers and rattling. Hurrying into the room he saw the two babybones huddled together, shaking. Both were emitting a coloured glow. Null's was azure while Void's was a light orange.

"Please....no...more...hurt....." Null whimpered out.

"It'S oKaY, nOtHiNg iS gOiNg tO hUrT yOu wItH mE hErE." Erratum didn't know what to do. He got onto the bed and put the two into his embrace but it didn't seem to help. Tightening his grip while rubbing circles on their backs, he lost himself in thought and without thinking he started to hum a tune. One he remembers but also doesn't remember from where.

As Erratum sang his voice slowly started to stop glitching, although he didn't realise it.

Let's go in the forest~

All the birds are singing~

Had them play for you a very special sound~

So if you're ever frightened~

Let the melody protect you~

For they will bring you to me~

When the sun goes down~

Everything stays~

Right where you left it~

Everything stays~

But it still changes~

Null and Void seemed to calm down and return to a peaceful sleep. Erratum relaxed and tucked them back into the bed. The soft pitter patter of rain was heard outside. It was drizzling. Unknown to Erratum the rain was caused by the tears of a certain goddess who found out her child still remembered her lullaby.
