You Found Me

The bell rang, disrupting my thoughts. School was finally over, and I stepped outside to wait for my mom to pick me up. I looked around, observing the people around me. Observing was much better than actually socializing. All of my thoughts are locked away in my mind instead of being rambled out of my mouth mindlessly. When you observe, you don't have to worry about the way people react to your thinking. You can finally be yourself, just.. only to yourself.

I was in the middle of fighting with myself about what I would do when I got home when I felt someone throw themselves on top of me, knocking us both to the ground.

"The fu-"

I looked up. It was Luke. Not Luke from Star Wars, not Luke my groggy biology teacher, but Luke Hemmings. The Luke that just happened to be one of the main people I try to avoid in this hell hole.

"Oh- Uh, Rachael, sorry I was kind of shoved over here.. so.." He seemed to confuse himself with his whereabouts.

But how did he even know who I was? I couldn't seem to get any of the words from my brain to the outside air. Luke smiled uncomfortably at me. "Well, um, bye." He grinned and walked away just as my mom pulled up. Well shit, that went terribly.

"Ooh, so does someone have a boyfriend that I haven't been told about?" She mocked.

"No, mom. No. Definitely not." I confirmed. Though it seemed as if I had to remind myself, he was pushed into me. It meant nothing. But I felt.. Weird. I don't know how else to put it.

My mom sighed heavily. "Okay then."
And I wasn't the only one disappointed with me.
