Chapter 6

For the past week, you got to know Jake, Caley, and Sarah.

This past week you learned some things about your new friends. Caley was pretty good at creating and drawing characters but hated coloring them in. Sarah was an amazing storyteller and her best stories were horror. And Jake was an incredible guitarist. They were all huge geeks despite how they looked. star wars, my hero academia, the legend of Zelda, creepypasta, demon slayer, Ouran highschool host club, etc. You loved them and the fact that you having good friends other than Beca, felt good. You walked into the cafe and grabbed an apron off a hook in the kitchen. You walked out as a man walked in and sat down in a corner booth. You walked over to him and took his order and left him to grab a freshly baked muffin and some tea from the kitchen. When you gave him the food he looked at you with pure rage. He yelled and yelled and soon he was up and coming straight at you. Caley grabbed your shoulder and walked in front of you along with Sarah. "get. The hell. Out. NOW!" Caley gritted her teeth.

"Before we kick your sorry ass." Sarah took a step closer. The man was clearly about to do something he would regret. The two of them pushed him back down into the seat and Sarah grabbed his hot tea and poured it over his head, but instead of screaming or any other normal reaction he looked up and smiled. He stared directly at Caley and stood up, grabbing a 6-inch switchblade from his back pocket. He started running at her when Jake stepped in front of her being stabbed in the stomach. You ran to lock the front doors to lock him in and you all ran to the kitchen closing the door behind you and locking it. Sarah called 911 as Caley and jake tried to stop the bleeding. In a few minutes, you heard the sirens, then the sound of the door-busting open and several footsteps in the cafe. You peeked out the door to see the man in cuffs. His greasy brown hair, and cold dead eyes. The worst thing though was his smile it wasn't natural. It was wide and paired with his eyes it sent chills up your spine. You ran out and told one of the police that Jake was stabbed. He was rushed out on an ambulance along with Caley. When you saw him he was very pale and he lost a lot of blood. You and Sarah closed the shop for the day and went to the hospital to see how jake was doing. Luckily he seemed to be fine and he got out within a few days with stitches.

~le time skip~ (a week later)

You and Ben were playing video games when he turned to you, "Hey wanna go for some boba with me?"

"But you ca- what the fuck just happened?"

Standing in front of you was a blonde boy with piercing blue eyes and a mischievous smirk. He was wearing a green T-shirt with the triforce symbol on it over a white long-sleeved shirt. He had blue jeans and black converse on and he looked like a normal 18 year old other than the fact he was a little shorter, standing at around 5'7". " it's a simple spell to make it easier for us pastas to go out in public. This is how I looked as a human."

"You look exactly like Link without pointy ears and the outfit."

"Mhm, shall we go?"

" Yeah sure." When you and ben arrived you and ben ordered your drinks and sat down. You started talking when MacKenzie walked in. She immediately noticed you and sauntered over, acting like a princess.

"Oh who's your little boyfriend (y/n)?" she teased, "he's kinda cute too, how'd some ugly bitch get him?"

Ben stood up, "Leave her alone, she is a thousand times the person than someone like you. She is beautiful, kind, smart, actually in my opinion she is out of my league." His face went red almost immediately realizing what he had said and he turned to see your shocked expression and red cheeks. With that MacKenzie walked off with a look of disinterest mixed with anger plastered on her face. Ben sat back down and looked at you, "um, t-that's actually why I asked you here, heh. (y/n) I-I really like you."

Your face was now officially the color of a tomato. "R-really!? Why me? I'm so weird and dorky a-"

"Well you're talking to an LoZ fanatic who dresses as Link and for a while lived in the game after I died, so..."

You smiled. "Well, I really like you too. I, uh, I actually have had a crush on you for a little while now."

"It's starting to get dark now why don't we head home." you and ben walked a few minutes along a sidewalk when he stopped and turned towards you. You stopped as well and turned your head to see him start to lean in. 'this is it, this was going to be your first kiss.' you closed your eyes and just as your lips were about to touch, your phone rang. You looked down and answered the phone. "Hello?"

"Hello, is this (y/n) (l/n) speaking?" a man asked.

"Yeah, this is (y/n);"

"We regret to inform you that the man who attacked your workplace escaped and..."

"Yes?"

"Well he murdered your friend Jake Holmes and we assume Caley Waterson as well, but we haven't found the body. only a bit of her blood."

You were silent. Tears began to fill your eyes.

"I'm sorry." the man repeated before he hung up. You dropped your phone and the tears began to stream down your face. Ben wrapped his arm around you and you began to walk home as you snuggled into ben's side. You got to your apartment and you fell to your knees, tears falling down your cheeks from your puffy red eyes. Your sobs broke ben's heart, he rushed over and picked you up laying down on your bed. You nuzzle your face into his chest and he tightened his arms around you as you cried until you fell asleep.
