Author's pov
Ara looked at Jimin, dumbfounded.
A date? she thought.
Maybe in a friendly way.The game began and Jimin really didn't just play around. Whenever the West High got the ball, it always ended up being shot to Jimin. Jimin would take it happily and shot goals.
Jaehwan wasn't the only one who looked annoyed—Sungwoon, too. Although Ara didn't know why, she just enjoyed looking at Sungwoon who played seriously.
Sungwoon got the ball from Jaehwan and took a shoot. Poor him, the ball didn't goal in.
"Sungwoon, focus!" Jaehwan yelled.
"Sorry," Sungwoon apologized while shaking his head. He didn't realize that Jimin's words affected him this much, until now.
The ball was in Jimin's again. Kai and Jaehwan gathered around Jimin, trying to get the ball back. But Jimin could free himself, and took a long shoot. Jimin looked at the flying ball and hoping it would go in.
And Goal.
Jimin smiled happily as Taehyung hugged him from behind. He looked at the girl on the right side and said "Ara! It's a yes, right? We'll have a date?"
Ara's face turned like a tomato and she couldn't say anything. She really didn't expect this, either it was as a friend or more than that.
"Silent means yes, you know," he chuckled.
Sungwoon looked at them and he hated it. Even he loved his brother so much, Jimin, he still didn't want him to get too close with Ara.
Sungwoon looked at the score board—which shown 3-1. He needed to catch up in the last 10 minutes.
He looked at Kai who snatched the ball from Taehyung, and now Yoongi came to him. Sungwoon ran fastly, signalling Kai to give him.
Kai shot the ball lightly to Sungwoon, and he ran fastly again. Shortly, Jimin came to him. He kicked the ball up to his chest, and passed Jimin easily. Right before Jimin catch up with him, he shot the ball and scored.
Sungwoon ran to the back. He analyzed the movement of the West High. Everyone would give the ball to Jimin, eventually. So Jimin really meant his words. It must be Jimin who shoot the ball.
"Does it count, if it wasn't me who shot the ball?" he thought.
Sungwoon played even more seriously, snatching, dodging and made Jimin laughed.
"Yah, you said you got no benefits," teased Jimin.
"It's natural wanting to win, right?" Sungwoon said before passed through Jimin.
Sungwoon was about to take a shoot but then Yoongi accidently kicked his foot instead of the ball. Sungwoon fell and the referee blew his whistle.
"Sungwoon, sorry! I didn't mean to!" said Yoongi, apologeticly.
The referee gave him a warning, and Jaehwan called Eunhi to look at him. Sungwoon surprisingly still wanted to play, even his ankle got sprain and swollen.
Eunhi was about to spray his ankle but Sungwoon got it from her hand, and sprayed himself. "You go out, the game's still on."
Jaehwan looked at Sungwoon worriedly, and said "We have backups, you know? Go rest, it's only friendly match. Not a real one."
"No, I want to play," Sungwoon stood up slowly and tried motioning his ankle circulary.
Jaehwan gave signal to the referee, telling him the game could continue again, and the he blew the whistle.
Sungwoon still tried his best to play, even with his left ankle was injured. Jimin didn't expect he would go this far for the bet.
"You can rest, you know," Jimin said worriedly.
Sungwoon didn't answer and snatched the ball from him, and kicked the ball in.
3-3.
Sungwoon panted, and looked at the remaining time.
3 minutes left.
What can I do in 3 minutes? He looked at Taehyung who had the ball, and he ran to him. Taehyung who realized Sungwoon came for him, passed the ball to Yoongi but Jaehwan snatched even before it reached Yoongi.
"It troubles you, right?" Jaehwan said to Sungwoon, who ran beside him. "The bet?"
Sungwoon didn't answer.
"It's the last chance, Sungwoon," he passed the ball to Sungwoon, who got he ball perfectly. "fix everything or Jimin will snatch her. Or even worse, Jungkook."
Sungwoon used his very last energy to take a long shoot.
He could only pray it would score.
The keeper jumped to get the ball but he didn't reach it. The ball went in and made East High team as the winner.
"Goal!" chirped Kai.
All the East High team ran to Sungwoon and hugged him from behind. While everyone cheered for him, he just looked at the girl who sat alone under the tree.
Ara stood up and clapped. She looked at Sungwoon, who was looking at her, too, and gave him smile.
Sungwoon who didn't expect to get a smile from Ara, turned his face away. He didn't get a smile from her for a long time and it kinda flustered him.
"Hyung, congratulations," Jimin came with a wide smile.
"Thanks," Sungwoon replied.
Jimin leant in Sungwoon and whispered on his ear, "I actually don't have any intention with Ara, I know she's your ex from the boys. But I realized it, too, that both of you are too stupid, so I gave you a kick,"
Sungwoon looked at Jimin with unreadable expression.
Jimin just chuckled and said, "Promise is a promise, Sungwoon. You won, and now you must do what you promised,"
Sungwoon turned his gaze to Ara, who walked to the court right now. He could see the smile on her face, looking at him proudly.
