Jaehwan's pov
Ara was locking herself in her room for almost a week. She didn't want to eat and I could hear her sobbing. I felt a little guilty for leaving her alone but I couldn't just skip school.
"Sungwoon," I called my seatmate. "did something happen after camp?"
"What do you mean?" he asked.
"She locked herself in her room," I shook my head. "I've been wanting to ask you this."
"It was all fine until she met someone in hospital." he replied.
"Someone? Who?" I raised my eyebrow.
"I don't know. She didn't answer. But I think I heard her cursing his name."
"A boy? What's his name?"
"It was something along with 'kook'" he replied.
"JUNGKOOK?" I gasped.
"Yeah, I think. Why?" he asked back.
"Of course that guy!" I buried my face on my hand. "Who else can break her like that!"
"Don't scream in my class, Mr. Kim!" the teacher yelled.
"I'm sorry, Mrs. Chang," I apologized.
"Yah, why did you freak out like that?" he whispered.
"Because I almost lost my sister because of that bastard." he cursed.
"What do you mean?" he raised his eyebrow.
"Well, back in—"
"Mr. Kim, Mr. Ha, get out. Now!" she slammed the table.
"You really need to learn how to whisper," he rolled his eyes before went out.
I sighed and bowed to Mrs. Chang, followed him behind.
We stood in the hallway and he looked at me seriously before asking, "What did you mean earlier?"
"If she didn't tell you, then I can't." I sighed.
"Jaehwan," he called me. "I can't help if you don't help me."
I bent down as my chest hurted a little for remembering the incident. "He was her ex boyfriend, and he dumped her just because she can't dance anymore."
"She's a dancer?" he asked.
"She used to. Until one day, she got hit by a car. The injury wasn't that bad, but instead of gave her time to recover, that jerk forced her to practice so hard, until she couldn't even stand up.
They supposed to go to dance festival together next month. But you know, with her condition, they couldn't make it. He was mad and dumped my sister. She lost both of her dream and love."
"But she managed to recover, I see?" he asked
"There was a time, she stopped taking all of the treatment. She gave up. She said that she lost her dreams, so why bother. Both of my parents were mad and threw tantrums to her in daily basis.
And one day, she left home in night. I was so furious because she couldn't walk properly. I couldn't find her anywhere, but suddenly she was back. There were bruises, but she just smiled. She said that she wanted to take the treatment again, just so she can walk. I didn't know what changed her mind, but I was so thankful."
He listened closely while patting my back. He wasn't a person who talks much but he was caring. "I'm afraid I lost her again." I sobbed.
"You won't," he gave me his towel. "Come on, go to the toilet and wash your face. You look like a mess."
"Thank you, Sungwoon." I grabed his towel and frowned. "Wait, I think I know this towel."
"Of course, cloud pattern towel. You'll find it anywhere." he chuckled.
"Ah, is that easily found?" he asked. "I couldn't forget this towel because she brought it home. You know, when she told me she wanted to continue the treatment. This towel was tied on his leg and I think she has it on her bed until now."
"She sleeps with this towel?" he raised his eyebrow.
"Yeah. Maybe it helps her to calm herself. She's still having bad dreams until now. She might wakes up in the middle of the night and crying her lungs out. Seeing her like that, it's really hurt."
"Jaehwan go wash yourself." he said with unreadable expression. I didn't understand but whatever. Weights on my shoulder has been lifted. I nodded and walked to the restroom.
