upon arriving at school, felix sees chan and a girl, whom felix has never seen before, standing by chan's locker. she was quite obviously flirting with him, a lock of her dark hair tangled around her finger. felix laughs at chan's horrified expression while having an internal debate as to whether he should help him out. he watches in amusement for a while before approaching the pair.
relief washes over chan's face upon seeing felix. the girl is still talking to him as he excuses himself, gesturing to felix and saying he has to go.
"call me!" she shouts. felix thought he saw chan roll his eyes.
"i don't even know who she is," felix laughed at him until his laughter was interrupted by a very loud shout coming from across the hall.
the two turn around to see a very rushed, very messy minho running down the hall, tie loosely hanging around his neck, backpack open. felix cringes upon seeing the bag, the books almost falling out. his arms were folded across his chest, the fingers on his right hand drumming over his left arm rapidly.
"what happened to you?" chan asks, reaching up at a loose strand of hair hanging over minho's forehead.
"and how much coffee did you drink?" felix adds.
"i literally just woke up," he says, swatting chan's hand away. "and i only had one cup."
"minho,"
"fine. i had a triple shot. happy?"
"yes,actually. have fun crashing." felix chuckles and follows the hyperactive boy to his locker, leaving chan alone.
"you really should start going to bed earlier," felix comments as minho fixes his tie.
"i slept at 11!"
felix bursts into laughter. oversleeping is not something minho is unfamiliar with, he can sleep through just about anything.
"why don't you set an alarm? or get your parents to wake you up?"
"my parents aren't home when i wake up," the elder sighs. "and i sleep through my alarm anyway. but its fine. chan wakes me up."
felix gets a strange feeling in his stomach when minho tells him his parents aren't around when he wakes up. minho doesn't have any siblings, so the thought of him waking up completely alone frightens felix. felix's house is always busy, so having the complete opposite is not exactly something he would be used to.
their conversation awkwardly stops, and a silence of the same kind follows. the silence lasts for what seems like ages until a very bad imitation of a crow comes from behind felix.
"hey, jeongin," the two say together.
the crow worked, though. the three immediately picked up a conversation.
"surprised you made it on time," the eldest says, ruffling jeongin's hair.
"hey," he pouts, pushing the hand away. "yeah, seungmin drives fast."
"seungmin drove you?" felix asks in shock. felix has only been in a car with seungmin at the wheel once, and he never wants to do it again.
"it was a last resort," the youngest says, shoving his bag in his locker and continuing to walk with the pair. "i never plan on it again. i think he's still checking his car."
felix and minho share a glance. "checking?"
"yeah. pretty sure he backed into a stobypole." he sighs with mock disappointment, earning a chuckle from the pair.
