Winter took a turn for the worse. The harsh winds, almost impossible to bear, destroyed any hope of having food.
During the early winter, Feyre had tried her hand at planting crops. But she had never been good at planting and was even worse at it because of winter. So now, as winter was at its peak, the Archeron's were without food.
Devastation was everywhere for Feyre's family. One morning she woke up only to find her father writhing in pain on the floor. His leg, now crushed, was lying limply beside him. Her father had been attacked, attacked by robbers trying to find money only to find that we had none. But to show that they meant business, they shattered his leg. "Father? Why didn't you fight them?" He seemed surprised that I knew what happened without asking. "Feyre darling, I couldn't, there was just too many. Please don't take this the wrong way, but I will never be the man that you thought and that you hoped and wished I could be." " I know that father, but any hope that I had for you to be any less of the coward that you are is gone. And I'm truly sorry. I'm sorry for believing that you could be different, I'm sorry for trusting you to take care of our family, and most of all father, I'm am sorry for believing that you actually cared." And with that Feyre walked out of her fathers life, never to walk in again.
As Feyre stormed out of the drawing room, she saw Lucious leaning against the wall. "You start tomorrow," he said, "You and I both know that you father isn't ever going to go back to work, and your family will not last another day in this winter." She was awestruck, Lucious was offering to help her, and even though she had no clue as to what that in-told, she was thankful that there was someone in her life that cared.
Feyre awoke early. Eager to see what Lucious had planned for the today, she ran down the stairs. Only to see him waiting for her in the Great Hall, as if he had known that she would be there at that very minute. " Hello Lucious. What are we going to be doing today?" I asked "I am going to teach you how to hunt."
