Conflicted with her feelings, Uma paced back and forth. He kissed her. Like really kissed her! Grumbling under her breath, she ran her hand through her tresses of turquoise.
She had simply stopped by the locker rooms and dropped off his English textbook that he asked to study from. But flirting as usual, they both leaned in and... ugh!
Uma blew out a breath and grabbed her phone before leaving her own single dorm. She luckily didn't get a roommate, but she knew it was because everyone there feared her and didn't want to take their chances.
With no other senior VKs attending the school, it got lonely when the boys were out doing their own thing. She hadn't bothered to immerse herself in Auradon Prep just yet. Dizzy and Celia crossed her path a few times, only for them to leave her out of the loop during their conversations.
Having to be good was no longer an issue for Uma. Yes, Goodness 101 had became a bore, but even that didn't measure up to how bland everything was at the Preparatory.
The school was so much of a "cookie cutter" experience, magical and sweet. Well, minus the actually use of magic.
So as she walked through the hallway, students sprinkled here and there, Uma had to roll her eyes. It was sickening to witness the same thing every single day.
That's why she hung out with Harry and Gil whenever she could and watched Swords & Shields during practice. Still, nothing fueled her more like the sea and the workings of a ship.
Making her way to the grand staircase she left the dormitories and walked to the academic complex where she knew where to find the blue-haired girl. Uma had a feeling Evie would be more than pleased to hear of her situation.
For one, the girl knew a thing or two about emotional involvement as well as conflicted feelings regarding... love.
Oh, it burned her mind even just thinking about the word. Was it even possible that she was truly in love with her first mate? She was surely crossing boundaries if she was.
Opening the door and walking inside the school, she routinely made her way to the art district where anything from design to painting to dance and band were instructed.
Evie had saw after school clubs as a way to help out her alma mater. She took to leading the design club, just as Doug popped in every now and then to help out with marching band.
On multiple occasions, Uma found it interesting to observe the designs the club came up with. Many of them contrasted the pastels and light hues that nearly blinded her sight.
When she arrived at the classroom, the door was open and there sat Evie, sketching alongside the high school students who were creating something of their own.
Upon noticing Uma, Evie looked up with a wide smile.
"Hey!" She said, putting down her pen and book. "What's up?"
The other students looked up, their eyes slightly fearful as they continued to work, trying to ignore the senior VK in the room.
"I have a slight problem" Uma said drawing out her words, hoping Evie would get the gist. "It's kinda personal. So if you're not busy..."
Evie shook her head. "Oh, no. I'm not. They don't need my help right now. Yeah, we can totally talk outside"
She stood up and placed her things down before following her now friend out of the room.
She and Uma had a rocky start, especially back in the summer. But little by little, Uma began to warm up to Evie. Though still believing she could be too perky for her own good, Uma found Evie to be one of the best people to talk to. Besides her first mate, of course.
