I'd say this day started off like any normal day but it really didn't, for instance who's day starts off by having your superior tell you that ONI has requested you to join them.
Believe me when I tell you I was gobsmacked to hear this. Although the excitement didn't last long as confusion soon settled in. Of course, to my surprise, my father put in a good word for me at ONI which explains this sudden move up the food chain. It's the only good thing he's done for me my whole life. When I left home all I had from him where bruises, guess that added character huh?
Of course I was already disliked by the other soldiers and hell, even the rookies I arrived here with a few months ago hate me. But now that they've heard I was moving up they hated me even more. I'd say it didn't bother me but, loneliness isn't good company.
As I made my way back to the crew quarters I was stopped by one of the rookies that arrived with me all those months ago, a typical jock type. Well built, cocky attitude, blonde hair and blue eyes. All the perfect ingredients for a cunt. He even had the name of a cunt, Jordan.
He blocked my path.
Jordan-"How the hell did /someone/ like you get moved up to ONI huh?"
'Cayde'-Sigh. "I don't know Jordan, honestly I'm more surprised than you are. Now can you move so I can go pack the limited amount of things I actually brought with me."
Of course he'd just roll his eyes and snort.
Jordan-"Oh believe me I already know. Just wanted to know if you'd actually say it. Pathetic that you have to get your daddy to do this for you."
Of course that daddy was said in a whiny, sarcastic way which didn't help when he shoved me aside into the metallic wall as he walks away.
'Cayde'-"Cunt."
And so after rubbing my back I made my way back to the crew quarters and packed all of my things into a singular, small backpack. My issued Sniper and Saw also strapped to my back, the only real things I have any value towards.
Oh a bit late probably but the reason the other were jealous and hated me even more was because I wasn't much of a solder soldier, I was more of a tinkerer. Loved experimenting and improving my guns and armour, although I was limited with how much I could modify each of course. So did I understand there hatred and anger towards me?
The answer?
I didn't really care. After all me going to ONI only meant I'd most likely never see any of these fuckers again. So before you even ask if I'll miss the U.N.S.C, the answer is a no. After all I had heard that ONI was better in every way...
Haha...
A stupid lie that I gobbled up all to easily.
As I took my seat on that Pelican I had sealed my fate...
