SIXTEEN

It has been a month since Taehyung became Jungkook's caregiver, and the older was pleased to say that he was not a bratty little. Also, it helped Jungkook to let go of his stressful thoughts, and sleeping wasn't a hard task anymore fo him.

The two of them were hanging out more often now, even when Jungkook wasn't in his headspace. The younger couldn't help but think about the older every now and then, of his endearing box-like smile and just everything else about him.

It was the same thing for Taehyung. He found himself often staring into space at work, thoughts of Jungkook lingering in his mind. They both couldn't wait till the evening so they could eat together and tell each other about their days.

But of course, they were just friends.

Today, it just happens that they both had the day off.

Jungkook stretched his arms above his head, groaning a bit. He had just finished his last assignment of the week, which was kind of a miracle since he was usually buried in papers for the whole week.

He walked out of his room to get a glass of water and saw Taehyung putting his boots on.

"Where are you heading?" Taehyung jumped a bit since he hadn't noticed the younger.

"I'm going for a walk," He paused as he slipped his arms in the sleeves of his warm coat, "Do you want to come?"

Jungkook was kinda surprised at the offer, but nonetheless agreed. It had been a while since he enjoyed the fresh air, and the gentle rustle of the leaves as the wind pass through them is always a beautiful sight to see.

"Alright, give me a minute." He went to get his phone that was still waiting for him on his desk and came back to put on his own timberlands and his coat.

Taehyung locked the door behind them and they descended the stairs side by side. They both agreed to go at the nearby park which provided a trail surrounded by nature. Those kind of places were rare since they were in the middle of the city, and they felt lucky to live close by.

Once they walked through a couple of trees, they finally walked through the entrance. A couple of kids were playing in the playground, laughing and running around while their parents were watching them, if they weren't on their phones.

They followed the path which had been formed by the people who had passed before them. Jungkook felt at peace with the soft noises of small animals, admiring the way the sun was filtered by the presences of leaves, leaving only specks of light hitting the dark earth of the path.

Jungkook couldn't help himself and grabbed his phone out of his jeans' pocket. He took a picture of the beautiful scenery. Beside him, Taehyung looked at him with curiosity.

"You like taking pictures?" Jungkook shyly smiled before pocketing his phone once again.

"Yeah, I wanted to become a photographer, but my parents had other plans for me..." The younger casted his eyes downwards and they continued walking. A frown appeared on Taehyung's face.

"You shouldn't listen to your parents. It's your life, not theirs." Jungkook sighed and ruffled his hair a bit.

"It's not that easy..." And without knowing why, he began to tell Taehyung about his childhood, how his parents had always controlled his every move. He also talked about his life in High School, and briefly mentioned University, where he explained he felt trapped.

Taehyung listened to him without interrupting. He hated Jungkook's parents more and more with each minute passing by. When Jungkook was done talking, tears were sliding down his cheeks and he stopped walking when a sob shook his ribcage.

He had never opened his heart like this to anyone, and it was like a huge weigh had been lifted off his shoulders. 

Taehyung didn't waste any time and wrapped the younger in a warm hug. He caressed Jungkook's hair softly, murmuring sweet nothings into his ear. After a couple of minutes, he had finally calmed down. Taehyung pulled back from the embrace to look him in the eyes.

"If there's anything you need to talk about Kook, I'm here for you okay?" Jungkook smiled, happy to have someone he could finally trust and confide in.

"Okay."

The two roommates entered back into their apartment, laughing and talking as they removed their outdoor clothes. 

"Do you want to watch a movie?" Taehyung asked the younger.

"Okay." Jungkook set out to prepare some popcorn while Taehyung set up the movie. When the other asked him what they were watching, Taehyung only said it would be a surprise. 

They both settled on the couch, each cuddled with his own warm blanket with the popcorn set between them. When the older started the movie, Jungkook gasped in aw as he saw the opening.

"I didn't know you were into anime!" Taehyung chuckled.

"Well Ghibli Studio make the best animation movies in my opinion. And Howl's moving castle is my all-time favorite." Silence followed as the two became immersed in the moving pictures.

At some point during the movie, Taehyung turned his head to look at Jungkook. He thought his doe eyes and soft pink lips were simply endearing, and made him look like a bunny. As if he had sensed someone watching him, Jungkook brought his attention to Taehyung, who was staring back at him with so much intensity Jungkook's breath was taken away.

Jungkook got lost in the rich, dark brown of Taehyung's eyes, his features simply breathtaking. The younger' eyes fell upon the other's lips, which were plump and inviting. 

Subconsciously, the two men leaned closer to each other, and their faces were only separated by a few inches. 

Slowly, Taehyung closed the spaced between them and gently pressed his own lips on Jungkook's. It seemed like fireworks and exploded in the younger's stomach as he responded to the kiss immediately. Oddly enough, it was as if the missing piece of a puzzle had finally been found.

 So Jungkook and Taehyung continued to kiss in a slow rhythm, lost into their own little world.
