As he made his way up the stairs he heard the bird's announcement, dawn had broken and moring had risen in its wake. He supposed he ought to feel guilty for not taking the advice he'd given to his sister almost eight hours prior. Only now touching the landing that led to his room, he'd proven her right men were hypocrites. It's not as though he could deny needing sleep, not with his eyes being so sore and heavy. Would anyone notice if he slept through the morning till night? If he got to his room before Jon and Theon woke he'd get away with it. The three boys shared this wing of the castle it had the smallest rooms best suited to; the ward, the bastard, and the go-between.

"When did you get back! " A voice called out from a little way ahead. So much for sleep, Borin thought as his eyes met an ecstatic Jon. The older boy swiftly pulled him into a hug, a far too tight one in Borin's opinion.
"Robb never mentioned you'd returned." The hug was so tight that it took Borin a minute to catch his breath, but as soon as he responded."I've been keeping it quiet, now hardly feels like the time for a welcome party."

"Nor does it feel time for a goodbye party." A sadness washed over Jon's face, it was an expression Borin had only seen Jon wear when in Catelyn's presence. A sadness rooted in guilt.

"The wall isn't calling for so urgently Jon. I can't imagine my sisters happy about you abandoning her." Tiredness had turned Borin's usual bluntness to spite. A sharp blade where it'd hurt Jon because he knew Liliana would never hurt him despite her misery. Or maybe it's because Sansa's plans to leave hurt him more than he cared to admit.

"I'm not abandoning, Liliana." Jon frowned, he couldn't help but think of her tears in the barn  nights before. Even if her brother thought different, she knew this had nothing to do with her didn't she?

"I was joking" Borin forced a smile, he knew deep down he had meant it.

"You and your sister aren't very good at jokes."

"No Jon, you're just not good at taking them, yet you always have a smile when she's in the room and even I have to admit my sister isn't that funny."There was flicker of fear in Jon's eyes, like a deer milliseconds before the arrow strikes flesh. With that one look, Borin's suspensions were confirmed Jon loved his sister.

"Relax I'm not going to say a thing"  It would only make things more difficult if he did, his sister didn't seem in the right state of mind as it was. She didn't need the added stress of having to deal with Jon's affections towards her. Besides nothing could come of it anyway their fates were already written she was bound to Robb and Jon bound to celibacy at the wall.

"But you never keep secrets from, Liliana."

"I do, I just keep them well." His grip tightened on the book in his hands, The worries and woes of men and their insufferable struggle. Was he saying too much. The idea of Borin hiding anything especially from his sister was laughable to Jon, the boy wore his heart in every expression. "You Borin, have always been as easily read as a child's book."

Borin couldn't deny that Jon was right. "Even if that is so, there's a few secret I've kept and I'm offering this to be one of them. There's no need for my sister to know."

" it wouldn't matter if she did, it's not like it would change anything is it?"

"No it wouldn't, her decision was made long ago."

"Except she wasn't the one who made it."  Jon said.
