I was sitting in a cafè waiting for Asano, the girl that I met the day before. She was a very perculiar character, I didn't know how she would fit into all of this. My personality based on what my parents had described of me was clashing with hers, polar opposites some would say. I tapped away at the desk, my glasses lay on the table, a drink nearby it. The ice melting due to the heat of the summer, I looked outside the windows of the cafè, the children all had the same face, clones, a digital copy of each other. Everybody looked the same and yet Asano was different, I could see her face, the only person I recognise yet don't. I hear someone clear their throat and see her with my glasses perched on her nose. She boops my nose before sitting opposite me, she had a very colourful wardrobe meanwhile I was dull, it was as if we were on different spectrums and the table divided us.

"So you don't remember me?"

"Nope."

"Ouch that's gonna hurt my ego."

I giggle a bit before regaining my composure, her smile got wider somehow, maybe she's just excited by the fact that I'm alive.

"Yesterday you said you had a walkman. Do you have it on you?" Her voice wavered a little bit, I could tell she was nervous about it

"Yeah. I kept it with me since I woke up in the hospital." I take out the device and lay it on the table, her delicate hands touched it slowly, scared she would scratch it. I looked at her and our eyes met, I nodded my head at the device almost urging her to go on, she looked back at the machine before grabbing it. "You gave me this when you confessed, I thought that it might help you come to peace with yourself." She said to me, her eyes glazing over, the memory must be strong because I can feel every emotion from her. My lips stayed shut, she was listening to the song that I stopped at.

"Triumph? That was Garetts favourite."

"Garett?"

"I forgot you couldn't remember anything. Garett and Violla, the other people in the crash."

My mind is brought back to the crash, I remember pounding on someone, my eyes blinded by the fireball that the car was. The intense heat could melt my skin off and yet I tried to dive in to save Garett. It all came together slowly but it didn't last long, it became a blank card in seconds. When I came back to reality my hands were being held by Asano, she hesitatingly let go. The intense heat lingered where she had touched, whether it was real or not it felt amazing. I softly intwined our hands again and it felt like fire, like something that could hurt me with just a touch, my feelings were all over the place. I gave her a lopsided smile, her beautiful green eyes were almost like a spell, putting me under a trance, I never felt anything like this before. She didn't notice the effect she had on me but deep down I felt something wrong, she had a downcast look, it hurt to see her like that. Come to think of it, I haven't known this girl for more than two days and yet it feels like my memories are coming back.

"You really like to stare."

"Sorry, didn't even notice. It feels weird knowing that you and me were friends at some point but I can't remember nothing."

A sigh escaped her lips, I bet they're soft, she took a look at my drink and before I knew it, she had taken a sip.

"Even when you don't remember you still order our favourites." She said with a giggle

"Wait we both like this?" I say gesturing towards my pink drink, Sirap Bandung is what it's called in Malaysia, I was told that a few of my family origanated there, way back in the 21st century. Memories of us sitting in this very same cafe cloud my vision, it was always the same booth, same drinks, same food.

"You'd be surprised at how much we have in common." A coy smile tugged at her lips

I could feel the heat rise to my cheeks, how did such a simple sentence become so exciting from her? She looked at her watch before jumping with a yelp, she walked over and kissed me. Her soft rosy lips had come in contact with mine, my body had tensed and relaxed in a fraction of a second. She mumbled an apology before running out the cafè, my lips still had that tingling sensation, my fingers ran over them. I was so caught up in the moment I hadn't realised that she had taken my glasses.
