Life really begins when you hit 8 years old. Especially for young Ysan Tycheryl, this begins his new life as a third grader in a new home in a small mining town known as De’Cound with his mother and father. His mother Hiruno, is a hippie artist known for drawing 3D masterpieces with only a pencil, his dad, Shade, is a photographer who makes world renowned documentaries of nature and stunning structural design, his adopted sister Kokoro-dachi or Koko for short has a little more complicated life. They didn’t find her in a foster home, no, about a year after this family moved into their new mansion, during a cold torrential rainy night; there was a peculiar pink haired girl walking through the courtyard. Her steps on the crisp wet grass could be heard from the fire place in the living room, and thus, Hiruno, went to investigate. As she watched the girl approach the house in tattered soaking wet cherry blossom-decorated pajamas, almost limping, she grew curious. Then that girl tripped and fell face down in the dirt, but didn’t get up. At that point, Hiruno had run outside to get the young girl. Her hair was pink, and her eyes were hazel and sinking into her head, which was ablaze with a high fever. Her skin was pale, because of a terrible cold, and her stomach roared with hunger. When she came to, she told them her name (Kokoro), and story: after his wife left him, her father started drinking, and in his rage he would yell at her and sometimes even beat her, she had the bruises to prove it. The man made her cook for him, clean for him, on a really bad day, he would even molest her, threatening to kill her if she ever old anyone. She would have never gotten away if it hadn’t been for one of her teacher friends who were really good at reading between the lines. Her father was arrested and put in prison, she stayed at a foster home, but eventually kids started calling her ‘strip tease’, and so she ran away and ended up here. Moved by her story, they offered to let her stay here, they would be her parents. However, she gave them and even better offer, she could see one of the pictures on a table near the front door, then got on her knees, and pleaded that she would become their son’s personal maid. Ysan overheard them conversing on the topic, they loved the idea; he didn’t have any friends so this would be the perfect way for him to start. From above on the top of the staircase, he saw them hug her and kiss her on the forehead, and cry as she said she would start when she recovered, through her tears she saw him at the top of the stairs, staring down at her most distastefully, his family has naturally grey eyes and brown hair, but Ysan only had one grey eye, the other was orange. Soon Kokoro would find out why Ysan had no friends.  Later after getting both straight with a school known as De’Cound Junior high, as soon as they get on the bus they learn this school, no; this town is full of strange people.

Chapter one: the new kid

Kokoro: Wake up master Ysan. Otherwise we might be late for school.

Ysan: *turns head and glares at her*

Kokoro: *shudders* T-the first day is c-crucial.

On that note, Ysan sat up and gathered his thoughts. Then without a word he passed Kokoro and went to the bathroom for a quick bath. Kokoro wore a maroon maid outfit, complete with a pink scarf and gloves. After he came out, he descended the stairs dressed in his own style of clothing: a pair of grey socks, some black and white chucks, short blue jean pants, lined with black at the bottom, and shirt that looked like a navy-blue and white hoodie with short sleeves instead of the long ones. He took his place at the dinner table and saying nothing he dug into the omelet on his plate, sided with bacon.

Hiruno: Ohh! This is divine, man. You can really cook for someone your age Koko. *realized and odd flavor* oh shoot, sorry, I can’t eat this, lactose intolerant you see. *frowns*

Kokoro: No worries mother, this is the first time I have made this for you, so I took my time with different ingredients to prevent any allergic reactions. I used margarine instead of butter.
