since he was a small child his grandma would always pull out a special book and read away telling tales of fairies and goblins and what really exist beyond what you could believe. It was Runes favorite time of the evening, his grandma and him had a special bond no one else but death could separate, but sadly death always came. Rune took it the hardest, isolating himself from his family, he was given the book as his grandmas will, as a child he'd have been stoked to be given it but now as a teen the book was useless. He put it in his bookshelf and ignored it, The book collected dust of his memories. Years went on and his grandmas death never left him, he went on and lived his life though. Now being twenty years old it was time to leave home and start his own adventures. He was given the summer cabin as a gift and went his way to packing and moving in.
Rune sighed as he Looked at the last boxes glancing at what he named them. On the tape it wrote 'Books' he hadn't picked up a book in a while being far too busy with school and work and he wasn't sure he'd pick one up again. But it wouldn't hurt for decoration. Soon enough his bookshelf was once again filled but one last book rested in the last box. He leaned down and pulled it out rubbing away the dust that collected on it. His eyebrows rose as memories flashed before his eyes, the endless evenings of his grandmas voice reading him the tales. He immediately went to his bed and opened up the Book. He spent the whole night reading it, every tale and word, his reading stopped at a specific page when a note fell out. Rune leaned down and picked it up looking at the page it was on. It was a diagram explaining how to make a fairy garden and catch a fairy. The note told him to follow the instructions make a friend and you'll have a greater good in the future. A lump rose in his throat when he recognized it was his grandmas signature. Rune thought about it long and hard before he decided he'd try. What was the worse that could happen?
Months and months after making the garden no fairies came. Rune felt frustrated he read over the diagram multiple times and made sure everything was perfect. He left gifts and treats and everything a fairy could want but they never came. That was until winter. He was walking home when he saw a tall lanky male in his fairy garden, long white hair and jewelry surrounding hugs body. But what stuck out most was the dragonfly Wings that we're behind him. Rune stopped in his footsteps watching the fairy. "I thought they were a lot smaller" he said to himself seeing as the male was even taller then him. They were also a lot more beautiful then he could imagine. He stood there in awe watching as the fairy took his offerings with a small smile.
It didn't take long for the fairy to notice he was being watched looking from the garden to see the awe struck human. He seemed to give a deep laugh of amusement "your set up is quite adorable. I'm used to seeing them from young human children" he said and leaned down looking at a necklace that was left. He lifted it and turned to the other raising it. "Help me put this on? It would be harsh to refuse your offerings yes?" Rune stuttered a bit before he slowly nodded his head and rushed over, going on the tip of his toes to put the necklace on the fairy "what is your name?" Run asked after he was done giving a step away "my name is slate" in which the fairy replied. The two continued to talk Rune starting to shiver so he offered the fairy inside of his house, Slate agreed and came in. Throughout the evening rune Told slate of how his grandma used to read him this book and even showed it to slate. Slate seemed surprised seeing the book "I haven't seen a copy of this in ages. Your grandma had it? It must be the last copy ever made" slate said in awe running a finger across the bridge of the book. Rune smiled a little "no wonder she wanted me to take it. If it was given to my siblings they'd have thrown it out. I never read it growing up but I still kept it on my shelf" Slate took a sip of his tea and looked at rune "normally I don't like being seen my humans. Your kind are greedy and only want things for the beauty of it, but when I came here seeing the garden It felt different. There was a warmer energy something pure" Rune seemed to blush at the compliment a smile lifting at his lips.
Soon their conversation died and slate had to leave. "Will I ever see you again?" Rune asked and slate looked at him. "Put out a offering every winter and I will come and visit you my little human" slate said. Rune smiled and nodded his head already seeming to plan our what he'd give. He already knew slate enjoyed to an extent. He was brought out of his thoughts when he felt soft lips against his own. He realized it was slate before he melted into and kissed back. A dark blush was left on his cheeks as slate pulled back and soon left vanishing.
Each winter slate came back and stayed with Rune. Rune had fallen deep in love with the snow fairy both sharing kisses and more as their relationship deepened. And after each winter ended their goodbyes would be Said until next. But soon enough when next winter came Rune was left to wait, Slate never coming back. Each day he looked at his fairy garden and at the offerings that were never touched. he wondered what had happened to his slate, maybe it was dangerous for fairy and human to be together? Was last winter their last good byes?

I dunno how I feel about this but oh well. I hope you enjoy :)
I'll make something more happier soon lol
